Bio:
This is Ace Ventura, Pet Parakeet. Ace is a 6-year old female parakeet. Her birthday is September 1st, 1994 and she will be seven next summer. We bought Ace in a pet store one October evening in '94, and her current home is in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Ace was named after the famous "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective" but we played around with the name and came up with "Ace Ventura, Pet Parakeet :)"(and after she layed an egg on 12/12/00, I figured out she was a girl-Acealina, LOL!). I asked a friend of mine who's in Japan what Ace's name translated to in Japanese, and the best she could do was 'Ichi-ban' or 'the best.' Ace sure likes that name, because she considers herself 'the best'!!
Ace is a bird of many different personalities. Most of the time she will bite fingers if anyone invades her 'territory' in her cage, and believe me, she can be vicious when someone invades her property! But, when we let her out of her cage, she knows that the area is "our area", not hers, and will be a sweet little thing. When you let her out for hours at a time, she will become unbelievably nice. She has let me rub my cheek against her and gives me birdie kisses :).
Her birthday was supposed to be sometime like late summer/early fall of '94; so I decided that the lucky first of the month, September 1st, would be her birthday.
Ace is definitely not photo shy! Her pictures usually come out very nice, because, of course, she is a famous budgie model!
News
3/22/01- 12/12/00-Ahhh!!!! Ace is actully Acealina!!! SHE layed an egg today!! Of course, since she lives alone, it will not become a baby bird, but she still layed an egg!! Its going to really be hard to adjust to calling Ace(alina) 'she' instead of 'he'! Well, at least I don't feel bad putting her in jewelry (visit the 'Feather Fashions' shop to see him..I mean, her), hehe. :) I'll show you a picture of the egg when I get the film developed. Oh, and also on that role of film is a few pictures of Ace trying to nest in her seed cup! ....And I thought it was just a little trick she had learned!

A collection of messages from Ace(latest: 2/21/01) Okay, okay, so first is the best you can get.. but I certinly won't stop now! I'm in the contest yet again.. what is it, my 5th, 6th time? Heck, isn't 5th, 6th time the charm? Well, the contest is in April.. April 29th, I believe. And it's a bridy-only contest.
