FIRST APPEARANCE: "MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE" PART 1
"Move in closer, guys. I want you all to
get a look at my new invention."
Comments: The car pictured on the
upper right holds the distinction of being the very first die-cast car I
ever owned that resembled a Transformer. The likeness was so uncanny
that I was hesitant to modify the original toy in any way, so I'm presenting
it here even though I had absolutely nothing to do with its creation. Sure
looks like Wheeljack, though, doesn't it?
Once Mattel released a Hot Wheels version of the
Lancia Stratos, though, I painted one up into the colors of Wheeljack's animation
model, which is significantly less detailed than the Hasbro toy on which
this design was based. (I also bought a second car like this to turn
into an Action Master from Europe named
Slicer.) |
