"Destroy all intruders with rain! Acid
rain!"
Preamble: I'm not sure what would have
compelled Limelight to take on such an offensively bright paint scheme.
Maybe he's got defective color perceptors. Maybe he got an accidental
dose of gamma radiation in a laboratory accident. In any event, Limelight's
a very green Decepticon. He actually complements
Blue Moon and
Goldwing rather nicely when they're
all together as a group, but by himself, he's singularly obnoxious. He
makes Action Master Thundercracker look tastefully subdued.
Construction: I painted Limelight with
this fluorescent green that Testors makes. It's an acrylic paint, and
kind of watery, so it took a good four or five coats to completely mask the
colors of the plastic. He could probably use a coat or two more in
places, but too much paint tends to really obscure the fine details of a
sculpt, so you've got to reach a happy medium with these things.
Comments: I think Megatron would have actually
taken Limelight with him to Earth if he'd been able to actually look at him
for more than a few seconds at a time without developing cerebro-migranes.
"Decepticons, attack! Show the Autobots no merc...AAARRGHHH!
I can't see! How ironic that I have been blinded by the very
warrior that I myself assigned to this mission!"
This is, incidentally, supposed to be the
same character released in 2008 by Hasbro as part of the Transformers:
Universe Classic Series, only their toy is a) named Acid Storm, b) the
wrong shade of green, and c) transforms into an F-15 Eagle. Minor
details, one supposes.
LIMELIGHT
FUNCTION: HUNTER
"The downfall of the Autobots is the path
to Decepticon glory."
LIMELIGHT acts like he's on center stage
in a Broadway show. Main interest is spreading Decepticon infamy throughout
the galaxy. Believes defeat of the Autobots will bolster his renown...will
do anything to boost his recognition and popularity. Cybertronic jet
mode flies at Mach 2.1. Armed with acid blasters that can eat through
a foot-thick steel wall in less than 60 seconds. Lack of spectators
weakens his performance.
