Star Wars Legos Repaints

"Of course I've looked better!"--See Threepio, The Empire Strikes Back

I Am C-3PO, Lego-Megabloks Relations.I'm thrilled (well, okay, moderately pleased) that they finally released official Star Wars Lego stuff, but what good is R2-D2 without his shiny, golden counterpart to make fun of him?  I feel the same way I did when I was a kid and couldn't find a Play-Doh set that had Threepio in it.

I Do Believe This Base Plate is Not Entirely Stable!Anyway, here's my Lego C-3PO, shown with the official R2-D2 (left).  Originally I was bent on assembling him from entirely yellow parts; I guess that wasn't necessary since the gold paint covers him up completely anyhoo.  Please note the wires on his torso and the silver leg, thankyouverymuch.  I also stenciled in some chest details which didn't scan very well, I think because the gold paint is so shiny.

I was so pleased with him that I made an Episode I version of him as well (right).  He was originally one of those skeleton guys you usually see in the Time Twisters series (hey, I work in the Lego aisles, it's my job to know these things).  I had to cheat a little and fill the gaps in his ribs with modeling putty and fashioned a torso disc out of some clear plastic.   Everything else is paint.

I may do more of these guys; Boba Fett might be fun.  It depends on how many more Lego guys I can find...
