AUTO-SCOUT (DIE-CAST)

PROJECT #331
CLASSIFICATION:
REPAINT
MEDIA APPEARANCE: "A PRIME PROBLEM" (G1)

"Auto-scout activated!"

Comments:  The auto-scout was a non-sentient cassette drone designed to function as a remote probe, capable of analyzing and transmitting the data back to Soundwave.  It only made one appearance (and was subsequently destroyed), but I think Soundwave probably has more of them.  (Why they're called auto-scouts instead of decepti-scouts completely eludes me.  But anyway.)

What's interesting about the auto-scout's design is that it's actually identical to Ravage in cassette mode.  Whoever designed it (Floro Dery, I'm assuming) must have used the existing Ravage design as a basis, and came up with a new transformation scheme based on the details of the tape design.  (I think it would be possible to rebuild a Ravage toy into the auto-scout pretty easily, actually.)  We only see one side of the tape in the episode, so I just made both sides identical to each other.

Is it a bad thing when I start basing my projects on unliving automatons?
(Don't answer that.)
