Chapter 3
Chapter 3 The Risk
"Okay here are the tickets," Zane said showing them to some guy, who studied them for a while.
"Okay you two can go," he said moving out of the way and allowing us to enter.
We walked up this long flight of stairs until we reached the top where there was a woman in a red suit waiting.
"Okay you two are in two separate cabins but there are right next to each other so I will take you there," she said in a polite voice then she turned around and started walking Zane and Sara followed her. "The cruise to Johto takes a day so you will be spending the night on the ship."
"Cool a new league and a free cruise," Sara said.
"You still got the egg right?" Zane said looking at her but not seeing the egg.
"Its in my backpack," she said pointing to it.
"Fine I just think I should hold the egg," Zane said.
We reached the cabin but I wasn't really paying attention to what they were saying because I was planning. For what my escape I wanted to get back home and even though what the Growlithe had told me I knew there was someway I could get there.
"Okay lets go and get our Pokémon checked up," Zane said after the lady left his cabin.
We walked out the cabin to see Sara holding the egg. I never really took the time to look at the egg but something about it caught my attention, it was a firerey red and had a kind of yellow tint to it all at the same time almost like a flame.
"I was reading the schedule for the ship," Sara said looking at Zane. "It doesn't set sail for another hour."
"Good I want to go get my Pokémon checked out especially Cyndaquil," he said petting me on the head.
"Good I could use one since I am going to escape before the ship sails," I said knowing he would not understand me.
When we got to the treatment center Zane explained what happen to my leg and what the other Joys had done after she looked at my leg she decided that it need more time in that cast before she could remove it. I hope she would remove it, because it would have helped me with my escape.
Zane left me there to go get something to eat. I got the Chansey in the center to release his Pokémon and told them my plan of course they had there own opinions.
"Your crazy," Nidoran said.
"Why would you say that?" I said.
"There is no chance of you getting there alive or not getting recaptured," Nidoran said. "Come on back me up Pidgeotto."
"I cannot say a thing because it is Cyndaquil's decision," the bird said.
"How are you going to get off the ship without some human seeing you?" Nidoran asked.
"I haven't thought of that yet," I lied.
On the way on the ship I notice that there was a shipment of padding near a warehouse going some where, I was planning on when the ship started to move it would hopefully pass there I would jump off the ship and land safely on it.
"But why you have a nice trainer and everything," Nidoran said.
"Sure but I also have a family," I said.
"Pidgeotto say something," Nidoran said.
"What is there to say," she said. "When I first had to leave the nest I knew the day had come but if I could I would have like to stay. But I knew I couldn't."
"That didn't help," Nidoran said.
"I'm saying Cyndaquil doesn't have didn't want to and is going back to his island," Pidgeotto said.
Some other trainers came inside the center to have there Pokémon healed so we stopped the conversation.
Nidoran looked very upset but I didn't worry what I needed to worry about was how I was going to pull off this escape.
About 10 minutes later Zane and Sara showed up to get us Nidoran and Pidgeotto returned to their Pokéballs and Zane picked me up.
"The ship about to set sail lets go up top and watch," Zane said.
"Right," Sara said putting the egg in her backpack.
When we reached the top there were a lot of people up there Zane we found a spot right on the right side of the ship next to the dock, the perfect place.
"Cyndaquil you ready for a new league," Zane said.
"No I'm not," I said.
The ship jerked forward and began to move. I scanned the dock for the padding couldn't find it.
"Boy this free cruise and everything is going to be so cool," Sara said.
"Yeah it is," Zane said.
"Sorry Zane," I said finding the padding the humans had moved it closer to warehouse. A longer jump but I was still going to attempt it on three legs.
"Cyndaquil I was so happy when I first got you," Zane said.
"Great why now," I said.
"I have always wanted a Cyndaquil ever since I was a little kid," Zane said.
"Why?" Sara said sarcastically.
"I just did," he said.
The ship was getting closer to the warehouse.
"Sorry Zane but family first," I said wiggling out of his hands and landing on the railing.
"Cyndaquil get down from there," Zane yelled reaching for me.
I was trying to balance myself and when I saw his arms I jumped he touched me on my leg with the tips of his fingers.
"Cyndaquil," he yelled.
I fell for a long time, the wind whipping over my body as I hit the padding, which didn't help much in my opinion.
"Uhh," I said getting up I started to run back in the direction we came all the time Zane yelling my name I didn't look back.
I ran as fast I could until I was tired and hunger. I didn't see any humans around but I didn't follow the path they had made I stayed away from that. I also didn't see any Pokémon around not even a Rattata. I started looking for fruit trees when I saw a Pokémon this on was an Eevee I later learned. It was running at top speed and collided with me.
"Uhh, what your hurry," I said getting up feeling good that I had met another Pokémon.
"No time to talk," she said out of breath taking off again.
"Wait," I said. "Is a human after you?"
"No Beedrill," she said.
"Beedrill? What's a Beedrill and what type of Pokémon are you?" I said.
"I'm an Eevee and don't you know what a Beedrill is," she said.
"No I don't," I said.
"Huh?" she said listening. "There catching up."
"So?" I said.
"You don't understand they hate Eevee's and they have been trying to get rid of us," she said this time with a panic in her voice.
"Then we better get out of here," I said.
"They aren't after you," she said.
"I know but I would hate to be alone against a gang of Pokémon," I said.
"Fine," she said taking off running l followed after her but I couldn't keep up, maybe if my leg wasn't in a cast I could have keep up.
She ran until a Beedrill who hit her with its big stinger intercepted her and knocking her down.
"Eevee," I said catching up with her.
"Hey guys one for Eevee poison," the Beedrill said turning around as 5 other Beedrills appeared from the bushes.
"I'm okay," The Eevee said trying to stand up.
"Ha look at it," one of the Beedrill said.
"Hey what is the big idea attacking a Pokémon," I said.
"Look and see it's a hurt Pokémon," another Beedrill said as they surrounded me.
"Where your trainer little Cyndaquil," a Beedrill said.
"What how do you know I have a trainer," I said.
"No wild Pokémon we know have that on its leg and Cyndaquils aren't common around here," the other Beedrill said.
"So step aside and watch us take out that filth of an Eevee," a Beedrill said.
"No," I said, I didn't know why I said it. I guess it was because when I needed help no one was there for me.
"What are you going to do about it," the Beedrill that attacked Eevee said.
"This," I said powering up my flame and shooting out an Ember attack that hit one of the Beedrill.
"Pin Missiles," the main Beedrill commanded.
They shot out the white needles at me and the Eevee I spun around using Flamethrower to counter the attack then I shot out some Swifts star at the lead Beedrill who flew back into a tree.
"This ones a fighter," he said getting up and charging me.
"I will help," another one said charging from the opposite side just like I wanted.
"Uhh," the Eevee said trying to get up.
"Hold on," I said shooting out a Big Smokescreen attack hindering their vision causing them to crash into each other knocking themselves out.
"You three want more," I said.
"We can take you," the first Beedrill yelled charging me trying to hit me with his needles.
I tried dodging them but on three feet I couldn't dodge it getting stung right on my stomach I fell on all fours.
"Your not so tough are you," he said.
I turned my head to face him and shot the biggest Flamethrower attack engulfing him knocking him out but also taking a lot out of me. Three down two to go.
"Ahh," one cried out charging me I shot out an Ember ball but he disappeared before it could hit him.
I turned my head upward to see him above me charging me with his big stinger I rolled out of the way dodging him barely as his stinger got stuck in the ground.
"Get him," he said struggling to get his stinger out.
The last one charged me from behind I saw him but couldn't move fast enough to dodge him he hit me up into the air, the one with his stinger in the ground got it out and shot a barrage of Pin Missiles at me hitting me in my stomach and some hitting my cast some piercing it and hitting my broken leg. I almost passed out in pain as I hit the ground. Now that they were double teaming me there was no way I could win with those odds.
"Ha ha not so tuff now," the Beedrill said.
My vision was getting Blurry. But I still tried to shot out a Flamethrower not realizing my flame was out I passed out as the Beedrill was pulling back on of his stinger ready to impale me.
Zane
I have done some crazy things in my life but diving from a cruise ship to go after Cyndaquil was the craziest. I don't know why, maybe because I was always crazy about Cyndaquils or maybe because I wasn't thinking but I don't think Cyndaquil was either. Why would he run away just like that, I couldn't answer that question and I can't understand Cyndaquil but it didn't really matter. I was soaking wet and looking for my Cyndaquil the same one who jumped from the same ship but didn't get wet.
"I don't even know where he went," I said looking around it was dark out and I had been walking in the wood for a long time without even seeing a Pokémon trainer. I didn't even have my backpack or my Pokédex. "At least I have my Pokémon." I said looking at my two Pokéballs that contained Pidgeotto and Nidoran.
"You have Pokémon," a person said appearing from the bushes. She looked to be about my age (13) she had brown hair that was long and she was wearing a Team Rocket suit.
"You're part of Team Rocket," I said.
"You better believe it," she said. "And I will be taking your Pokémon now."
"No one is taking my Pokémon," I said pulling out my two Pokéballs.
"You want to battle," she said pulling out her two Pokéballs.
"No actually I don't but if you want my Pokémon you are going to have to take them away from me in a battle," I said.
"Go Persian," she said throwing a Pokéball.
"Per," it purred.
"Hmm…go Nidoran," I yelled throwing a Pokéball.
"Nido," the Pokémon said.
"Persian Tackle now," she yelled.
Persian ran towards Nidoran.
"Nidoran Poison Sting," I yelled.
Nidoran shot out some Poison Sting hitting Persian and stopping its attack.
"Persian don't let that little Pokémon bet you use Pay Day," she yelled.
All of a sudden glowing coins appeared around Persian and flew at Nidoran hitting it repeatedly.
"Nidoran," I yelled wishing Cyndaquil were here.
"Nido," the Pokémon yelled trying to Tackle Persian but it was way to fast dodging him and slashing him in the head.
"Nidoran," it yelled falling down.
"Nidoran please get up," I said.
"Nido," the Pokémon said slowing getting up.
"Persian we have him on the run finish him off with Thunderbolt," she said.
"Nidoran Double Team," I yelled.
The Thuderbolt attack was about to hit Nidoran when he multiplied into three; the attack hit one of the fake Nidoran.
"Persian don't let it confuse you use Screech," she yelled.
Her Persian started Screeching so loud hurting my ears and Nidoran too because she was yelling out in pain.
"Nidoran Body Slam it," I yelled.
Nidoran held down the pain as he bounded towards Persian.
"Persian stop the attack and use Body Slam," she yelled.
The two Pokémon hit each other head on knocking themselves out.
"Return Nidoran," I said.
"Return Persian," she said.
"Listen I don't want to continue battling you," I said to her thinking about how much time I was wasting battling her.
"No you listen to me the whole Team Rocket is after me and if I don't steal any Pokémon for them they will kill me," she said with tears forming in her eyes.
"Huh?" I said confused.
"I never like stealing Pokémon so I never did," she said starting to weep. "But now they want me dead."
"Dead but why?" I said still confused usually when a person drops out of Team Rocket they don't care so why do they care so much about this girl.
"I was always raised by Rockets," she said wiping the tears from her eyes. "They told me that my parents abandoned me and they raised me so I am suppose to be the best Team Rocket has, but I never want to steal other peoples Pokémon. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a Pokémon trainer, I didn't refuse at first I would go out and capture Pokémon for them but when they paired me up with a partner he found out and told."
"Gee that's sad," I said.
"Yeah it is but guess what so is this," a voice said as two rockets appeared from behind a bush.
"No," the girl said getting up and running towards me.
"Don't try and run Jenny," the female rocket said throwing a Pokéball the Pokémon appeared right in front of Jenny. I didn't recognize the Pokémon.
"Tauros Body Slam her," the female rocket said.
"No," I yelled the Pokémon stopped moving.
"What are you going to do about it," the male rocket said throwing a Pokéball the Pokémon that came out I recognized.
"Phan," it said.
"Donphan Tackle that kid," he yelled his command to his Pokémon.
"Fine you want to play that way," I said pulling out Pidgeotto's Pokéball and throwing it.
"Pidgeotto," the Pokémon said exploding from its Pokéball and launching a Quick Attack aimed at Donphan. The two Pokémon met head on crashing into each other.
"You want to fight huh? Tauros Tackle that Pidgeotto," the female rocket yelled.
"You two Donphan," the male rocket yelled.
"Pidgeotto try Whirlwinding them away," I said.
Pidgeotto started flapping her wings fast trying to knock the Pokémon away but it didn't even slow them down as the Tackle Pidgeotto.
"Pidgeotto are you okay?" I asked the Pokémon as it stood up and flew up into the air.
"This isn't good," Jenny said.
"Donphan try a Rock Slide attack," the male rocket yelled.
Donphan picked up a rock to hurl at Pidgeotto when a brown blur knocked it down.
"What happen?" the rockets said at the same time.
"My Eevee happened," Jenny said.
"Thanks," I said. " Pidgeotto Gust Attack," I yelled up to my Pokémon.
"Tauros Fire Blast it," the female rocket yelled.
Pidgeotto began to flap its wings when the Tauros released the Fire Blast that dissipated in the air.
"Donphan Roll Out that Eevee," the male rocket said.
Donphan rolled towards Eevee.
"Eevee look out," Jenny yelled as her Eevee got hit up into the air. Pidgeotto flew under Eevee catching it before it could hit the ground.
"Good work Pidgeotto," I yelled.
"Eevee Swift," Jenny yelled.
"Tauros, Donphan wait for it then Tackle them," the male rocket yelled.
Eevee shot out a bunch of swift stars that exploded in Tauros's face.
"Pidgeotto lets us a double team Tackle," I yelled.
"Right, you heard him Eevee," Jenny yelled up to her Pokémon.
"Get ready," the female rocket yelled.
The four Pokémon hit head on Tauros and Pidgeotto fainted but Jenny Eevee and the rockets Donphan were still hurt badly.
"Pidgeotto return," I said calling back my fainted Pokémon.
"You have another Pokémon?" Jenny asked.
"No," I said.
"Ha ha, it is down to you and me and we all know who is going to win," the male rocket said.
"Eevee are you ready," Jenny said.
"Vee," it said exhausted from battle.
"Donphan time to make street pizza out of that Eevee Roll Out," the male rocket said as Donphan started to roll.
"Eevee Swift," Jenny said.
Eevee shot out the stars that hit Donphan but didn't slow him down as he made impact with Eevee sending it flying into the air. Donphan made a U-Turn as Eevee hit the floor and slowly started to get up.
"You have to stop the Roll Out," I yelled to her.
"Eevee Shadow Ball," she yelled.
Donphan rolled towards Eevee as she released the Shadow Ball that hit the Pokémon and causing it to stop the attack.
"Donphan don't make that little thing beat you use Rock Slide," the male rocket yelled.
"Phan," it yelled as it picked up some rocks and hurled it at Eevee hitting her in the head.
"Vee," the Pokémon said getting up slowly.
"Roll Out," the male rocket yelled as Donphan started to roll towards Eevee.
"Eevee look out," Jenny yelled.
Eevee tried to jump but found its tail pinned under the rocks Donphan threw. Donphan was almost 6 feet away from Eevee and there was no way it could move.
"NO!" Jenny yelled.
