Chapter One
I was nine years old when I dream to be a Pokemon Trainer and train my Growlithe to be the best Pokemon. It was a cold night when I walked home from my friend's house because she had a birthday party.
"It is going to rain," I said to myself, looking above the sky. I felt a bit of scare. When I was about home, I heard a poor howl beside some trees and bushes. I didn't know what to do. At last I make a decision to at a look.
I ran towards the howl and the sound seemed nearer and nearer. Finally I reached the place and saw a poor Growlithe lied on the ground with its leg hurt. I didn't if it will bite me. I went nearer to it and cuddled it. When it looked clam, I took out my handkerchief and tied it around the hurt leg and brought it home.
When I was home, I called my sister and told her everything. "This looked serious, Jane," My sister said as she looked at the Growlithe. "Let's bring it to the Pokemon Center."
"But it's quite far away from here and mother is outstation," I said. "What about we bring it with our bike?"
"Okay," she replied. My sister went to the backyard to take the bike while I was trying to let the Pokemon warmer from it's cold. We got on the bike. My sister rode the bike while I held the Pokemon tight behind her.
At a few minutes, we reached the nearest Pokemon Center and asked them to help us. "Please help me to heal it," I begged the nurse.
"We need to take X-ray, Chansey," Nurse Joy commanded the Pokemon with an egg in its pouch. She turned to us. "How could you let your Pokemon in this condition?"
"This Growlithe isn't ours," I protested. "I found it when I was about home."
"Well, what you did is right," she said politely. "Take a sit while we take a look at the Pokemon. I will try my best." I was worry while waiting for Nurse Joy's reply.
***
Later, Nurse Joy and Chansey came out of a room and went to me. "The Growlithe is okay now, you may look at it if you want to." The nurse told us. "But not too long." We nodded.
I can't wait to see the Pokemon. I rushed into the room and saw Growlithe on a trencher and went to it. "Are you okay?" I asked.
"Grow-," it replied, as if it said "Yes". It stood and came to me and licked me. I smiled at it.
"It's time to go now," my sister said. "It's almost ten." I said good-bye to the Growlithe and followed my sister home. I couldn't sleep that night. I was thinking of the Growlithe.
The next day, I went to the Pokemon Center after school and see the Growlithe. "I'm glad you come here," Nurse Joy said as she held Growlithe on her hands. "Here is your Pokemon."
"What do you mean?" I was surprised. "But I'm not its trainer."
"You see, the Growlithe wants to follow you," she explained. "Look at the Growlithe, it looks happy to go with you." The Pokemon went to me and I smiled.
"Thank you Nurse Joy," I said. "I will take good care of it." I went out of the Pokemon Center and went home and yelled, "I'm home!"
"Mom is back," my sister said. "You bring the Growlithe home?!" I said my mother coming to me.
"What is this, Jane?" she asked in surprise. "It looks like a Pokemon."
"Yeah, mom. This is a Growlithe," I said. I turned to my Growlithe. "Meet my mother. And this is my sister, Cassy." I went to the sitting room and told mom everything.
"I will let you keep this Growlithe but." my mother said. "you should become a Pokemon Trainer as your grandpa always wish."
"Okay mom," I said as I cuddled Growlithe. "What should we call my new pet?"
"What about Marie?" my sister suggested. "Or Henry?"
"You know I hate our cousins!!" I yelled. "I'll call it Brave." I looked at my Growlithe. It seemed like its new name.
Chapter Two
I was woken up by my sister's Pikachu alarm clock. "Growl-" Brave yelled as the sound of the clock annoyed it.
"It's six o'clock now," she yelled from her bedroom next door. "Wake up and get ready to be the Pokemon Trainer!"
I'm Jane Ketchum. I was at the age of ten, from the Cinnabar Island south of the well-known Pallet Town. Since I was at the age of ten, I can be a Pokemon Trainer. I felt nervous.
"Hurry up, Jane," my sister reminded. "Be sure not to be late!"
"I'll be in the kitchen in two minutes time!" I yelled back. I changed my clothes and ran down to the kitchen. Brave followed me downstairs.
"You mean you are going on your journey with this clothes?" someone said at the door. I turned and saw it was my cousin, Marie Ketchum.
"Yeah, always wear T-shirt with a blue jeans, don't you feel boring?" Henry Ketchum added, who stood beside Marie.
"Growll-" Brave shouted at them as if they were interrupted me. "lithe-"
"Aunty, I come here to wish Good Luck to Jane," he told my mother. "And what is this pest? I mean pet." My mother told everything happened last year. Then, my mother carried on her work at the kitchen. I finished the bowl and when to the living room where my cousins were.
"I come here to see how much my younger cousin have prepared for her journey," Henry teased. My cousins have started on their Pokemon journey since four years ago. They always show their badges to me when I was a kid. On their eyes, I'm just a weak because I'm a girl.
"Who knows one day I can beat you on a Pokemon battle?" I said. I ignored them and went to my bedroom to take my knapsack with all the necessities on the journey I packed the day before and went downstairs.
"Good-bye mom," I said to my mother in the kitchen. I gave her a kiss and went to my sister in the living room. "Bye, sister and cousins." I didn't want to say good-bye to my cousins but that's a kind of discipline. I don't want to be rude like them.
"Wait," my sister said. "Come to my room, I have something for you." I followed her to her bedroom and she gave me a Pokégear in which she says it's very useful on my quest, contain a map, a watch, a phone and a radio. I thanked her and went to the main road. I took out my roller blades and wore them. Off Brave and I went on the direction to Professor Oak's Lab. I reached the harbour and asked my friend, Johnny who promised me to bring me to Pallet.
"Growli-" Brave said hello to him.
"Stay still," Johnny said.
"Gro-" Brave said. (Okay.)
"Don't worry, it takes only half an hour."
"Half an hour?!" I thought. "It takes so long. Oh, I forget, Johnny always does things slower than a Slowpoke."
"Growlli-" Growlithe said. "Growlllithe-" (Which probably said that "I'm feeling nervous")
"By the way, what Pokemon you would like to be part of the team?" I asked. "A Bulbasaur? A Charmander? Or a Squirtle?"
"Gr- Glow," it replied. (It's up to you, Jane.)
"Pallet Town, I'm coming!" I yelled aloud.
Chapter Three
It really took about half an hour to reach the harbour of the Pallet Town. I thanked him for being so kind. I took out my roller blades and wore them. We went for two minutes and found a sight of the lab.
"There it is," I said to Growlithe as I pointed at the laboratory in front of us. "Let's go in." Brave followed me. I took off my roller blades and went in. I saw nobody in there.
"Growlithe! " Brave called out. (Anybody home?)
"Oh, it's you Jane," someone's voice behind me.
"Are you Professor Oak?" I asked.
"Yes. Follow me," he replied. I followed him to a room with Brave. "Here, take this Pokédex. It can helps you to record how many Pokemon you have seen and caught. It also helps you to catch Pokemon by telling you some of their nests' location."
"Thank you," I said, received a Pokédex. "What about my Pokemon?"
"I thought you have a Growlithe is enough," the professor answered. "I have planned to give the other Pokemon to the other Trainers. I almost forget, here is your belt. You may want to hang your Poké balls on it."
"Thanks again," I thanked him, trying to see if the belt fit. "Well, it's okay because I still have Growlithe, Brave.
"If I have extra one left next year, I'll call you to take it. What's your phone number?" I gave him my phone number and he gave me his so I may call him sometimes.
"Your Pokemon should be in a Poké ball," he suggested. "If no, it might be captured by the others." He handed me three Poké balls.
"You have gave me a lot," I smiled. I listened to professor and asked Growlithe to stay in one of the Poké ball he gave me. I recalled Growlithe as I always like it to be beside me. I left the lab and went to the next town.
"Don't be sad," I said to my Pokemon. "I promise to catch you one if.." A bird-like Pokemon appeared in front of us.
"Pidgey," the Pokemon called out. I took out my Pokédex.
"Pidgey. A Tiny Bird Pokemon. A common sight in forests and woods. It is also the gentlest and easiest bird to capture," the Pokédex explained. Before it finished, I commanded Brave to battle.
"Use your Flamethrower," I yelled at Brave. Growlithe gave a hot flame out of its mouth.
"Pid-" the Pidgey cried. I used Fly attack so I quickly called Brave to dig. Before the bird got it. The Pidgey missed its Fly attack.
"Quick, use the Pidgey is on the ground!" I yelled. "Use Dig Brave!" It knocked the Pokemon out. "Poké ball, go!" I threw one of the Poké ball Professor Oak gave me at the weak Pidgey. It shakes for a while and stop. I got the Pidgey! Growlithe seems happy with the new Pokemon we caught.
"Go! Pidgey!" I called out as I threw a Poké ball with my new caught Pidgey. "Sorry but I haven't decide what to call you yet so your name remains Pidgey, okay?"
"Growlithe!!" said Brave to his new friend. (Hello!)
"Pid-" replied the Pidgey. (Hi!)
"It's not early now and it's almost afternoon, let's keep going and we'll spend one day at Viridian City to explore around and hope you add Pokemon to the team," I said to my Pokemon. "Return, Pidgey!"
I walked to the Viridian City because the path was bad for my roller blades. Finally we reached the new town which I heard there's a gym which I can collect my first badge. Got to be hurry!
