0. Foreword
Hello to whoever may be reading this.
For those who have remembered me, I have done a similar mini-FAQ for Shining
Soul before (the old FAQ can be found
here).
I have decided to follow up with one for Shining Soul II. I hope this
little guide will come in handy for those who are importing the game.
This guide will be updated periodically, or whenever I feel that there is a need
to.

I. Warrior [ 戦士 ]

2. Optional Map Areas
In addition to the 10 regular stages in the game,
the following optional areas are available as well.
You may come to realize that some of this optional maps seem familiar. :)
1. Koriida's Well ( コリーダおばさんの井戸 )
Available:
After beating the "Goblin Fortress"
- An old lady will appear in the room outside
the throne room.
She'll ask you to help her clear the monsters that are lurking in the well
outside her home.

After you beat the mission, return to talk to her, and she'll either give you a
Nuclear Dragon or Raijin Soul.
On Advance Mode, you'll receive a Genki no Bun.
2. Ipanema's Item Shop ( 道具屋「イパネマ」の館 )
Available: After beating the "Fairy's Fountain"
- You will realize that the Item shop is not selling its regular selection of
items. Go to the Bar and find Irma at the counter. (She seems distressed that a
new rival shop has opened, and wants to find out more about them.)

Go to the newly-opened location on the map and play to the end of the dungeon,
where the shop is.
-
Remember to take the Flyer ( チラシ
) on the ground back to Irma, and she'll reward you with a Silver Ring (Normal
Mode).
3. Mysterious Drifting Ship ( 謎の漂流船)
- After beating the "Pirate Ship" stage, replay the stage again any time and
defeat the mid-boss Hadie again.
He'll recall of seeing the the ship and tell you its location, which will then
appear on the world map.
4. Monoko Forest きのこの森
Available: After beating the "Pirate Ship"
stage
- Talk to the "Red Shoes"/"Parasol" girl sisters in their room, and they will
tell you that their Old man has wondered off to the Monoko Forest in search of
mushrooms, but hasn't returned.
- Play through the stage, and you'll come across the Old Man lying on the
ground.
Equip a Monoko ( きのこ)
mushroom that you've found along the way to your R-slots, and toss it to him to
revive him. After that, simply toss him an Angel's Wing to help carry him back
to town.
- Talk to the Old Man when you get back, and he'll give you a Matsutake
mushroom.
5. Forgotten Prison ( 忘れられた地下牢)
Available: Anytime
- Acquire the "Prison Map" from the Rank 8 battle of the Coloseum.
- Hold the item in your inventory, and the new location will appear when you go
to the world map.
6. The Ruins of the Chosen Heroes ( 選ばれし勇者の遺跡)
Available: Anytime
- Clear all 10 levels of the Coliseum.
7. Ancient Forest ( 太古の原生林
)
Available: Towards the end of the game (actual timing unconfirmed)
- Walk through the right wall in the room of the Red Shoes/Parasol girl room,
and go through the entire passageway.
- You'll see a Wolfling. Talk to him and he will reveal a secret
training location.
*Note: You can talk to the Wolfling anytime, but the secret location won't
appear on the map until you are near the end of the game.
8. Lonely Labyrinth ( 孤島の迷宮)
Available: Anytime
- Acquire the "Labyrinth Map" and hold it in your inventory when you
go to the world map for this new location
to appear.
- The "Shinigami" (死神) monsters (those hooded floating
fiends with hooked arms) in the Chaos Castle drop this
item occasionally.
