Jade slowed as she approached the planet Xudar.
I have to thank the Guardians for setting my ring on course for this world. I wonder how many more features the ring has. I guess I'll ask Ganthet when I get back. She thought to herself.
She entered the atmosphere and let the ring take her to the specific native.
"Look!" A citizen yelled in excitement, not fear. "A Green Lantern!"
"Yes!" Another screamed on seeing Jade land in the public square. "Praise be! The Guardians of the Universe have sent a Green Lantern to Xudar!"
"Hello, umm… people." Jade had never met a Xudarian before. "I'm here for Tomar-Dar." He was among the crowd somewhere. Why else had the ring brought her to this spot?
"Tomar-Dar." One of the Xudarians near Jade repeated the name with reverence.
"Tomar-Dar." Another said to those behind him.
"Tomar-Dar!" One shouted.
"Tomar-Dar!" The crowd began chanting in unison, as one Xudarian made his way through them.
"I am Tomar-Dar, Green Lantern. Welcome to Xudar. How may we be of service to the Guardians of the Universe?" He had never lost hope. And this must surely be the day.
"Hi, I'm Jade. From Earth." She felt like the biggest star since Elvis. "There are new Guardians, six of them, including Ganthet, and we're making the Green Lantern Corps. Tomar-Dar, you're in." She held a ring in her palm and offered it to him.
He held it and said. "I accept this station on behalf of the Xudarian Green Lanterns before me, and on behalf of the good people of Xudar."
The crowd cheered as he held the ring for them to see, then he donned it. In a flash he was in the traditional Green Lantern uniform. He shook hands with Jade. The crowd went wild.
"Tell me of the Guardians and the Corps." Tomar-Dar wanted to know. They were in space, headed for Earth.
"Ganthet and five Watchers are the new Guardians. That's all I know about them. They sent me to you, while Kyle went to get his battery."
"Kyle. Yes, I've met the Lantern." Tomar recalled. "Three former Lanterns were with us and died in battle with savage life forms. Another, M'hdahna, lives. We have to find her!"
"First things first. We need batteries."
"Your ring, our rings, are different than Lantern's, I mean Kyle's."
"Yep. Hal Jordan gave it to Kyle a few months ago*, and Kyle gave it to me."

"Hal Jordan? How is that possible?" Tomar knew the majority of the Parallax story.
"Time travel. It was Hal from the past, when he was a Green Lantern."
"We will never allow one of our own to betray us again." Tomar-Dar vowed.
"You got that right. We're gonna choose very carefully who gets to be a Green Lantern."
