"Good work, Jade. Two Lanterns are better than one; that's for sure." Kyle Rayner aka Green Lantern said to his girlfriend.
She had the six criminals imprisoned in a giant emerald birdcage. "Nothing to it, Lantern."
She wouldn't say his real name in public when he was so dressed; he still had his secret identity. Though how long could he keep it secret, since Kyle Rayner was dating the green-hued model, who just happened to have a silver-age Green Lantern ring and hadn't hidden her id?
"Let's drop these bozos off at the nearest police station, and get some dinner. I'm famished." He said to her as they flew, side by side, with their birdcages in tow.
"It better be more than just another burger joint. I want to be impressed, mister." She gave him a flirtatious smile.
"I can take a hint; if it's pizza you want, it's pizza you'll get. Kidding!"
"Thanks again, Green Lantern. LanternS." The Police Sergeant corrected himself. "We've been after this little group for some time."
"We're glad to have been of service, officer. Have a nice day." Kyle said, and the pair left the building.
"Hello, Green Lantern. And Ms. Scott." The short blue man said.
"Ganthet!" Kyle recognized him instantly. "Where've you been?"
"Too many places to say here on a public street. More importantly is where I have come from and with whom have I been speaking with."
"I'll bite." Jade replied. 'Where've you come from and who've you been speaking with, Ganthet?"
"Rather than tell you; I shall take you there. Both of you. For it involves you both."
And with that, the three vanished.
They reappeared in a giant room; that is everything was of such a size that it must be a giant's modern home. Computer displays along one wall revealed that whoever the owner was, he loved electronics.
"Where are we?" Kyle asked, as he and Jade looked at the size of the place.
"Are we looking for the goose that laid the golden egg?" Jen asked.
"No, Jennie-Lynn Hayden, there are no geese here." A tall, bald guy wearing a white robe with a blue sash was suddenly before them. "Welcome to my home. I am Uatu."
"Friend of yours, Ganthet?" Kyle asked, wondering if this was going to be a friendly visit or a brawl.
"He is my new brother. Along with the others. Come into the next room." He walked with Uatu and the two Green Lanterns into a larger room, which was set up like a High Court; four other bald giant aliens were seated.
"Welcome, Green Lanterns." Uatu said as he took his seat. "We are the Guardians of The Universe."
"Umm… no offense but Ganthet here is the only Guardian." Kyle corrected him.
"Not anymore, Kyle." Ganthet made the correction. "As I said, they are my brothers."
"You've been adopted. Congratulations." Kyle retorted.
"What are we doing here?" Jade asked Ganthet.
"These five Watchers and I are going to assist you in reforming the Green Lantern Corps."
"What??" Kyle was startled. "Are you serious?"
"We are." Uatu answered, though the question had been directed to Ganthet.
"Listen. I tried to do that before and was less than successful."
"We know, Kyle Rayner." Iezo replied. "Your first recruit was MagaanVan's Intraktus. He created an antimatter storm *."

"How'd you know? Who told you?" Kyle was embarrassed that someone knew the details of that fiasco.
"I did. I watched." Ubbi answered. "I have no secrets from my brothers."
"Yeah, well, we stopped him." Kyle concluded the story.
"Yes." Another one remarked. It was Oiro. "And for that accomplishment you took the rings from Garl Rathbone, Anya Savenlovich, and Sool."
"I don't need a history lesson." Kyle shot back. He hoped they wouldn't mention the billions who had died, or Hammeroon's sacrifice.
"So we're going to reform the Corps?" Jade asked, to change the subject.
"That's right." Ganthet answered, glad that the Va'an Incident topic was over. He felt as much to blame for it; he hadn't been much of a tutor to Kyle.
"Where do we start?" Kyle asked. "I've always dreamt of being part of a strong Corps. Should Jade and I go find those three?"
"No. They are not to be Green Lanterns." Uatu answered. "We have a few recruits in mind."
"First, Kyle, you need to give me your Battery, keeping a sliver for yourself." Ganthet answered Kyle's first question of where to start.
"Secondly, Jennie-Lynn Hayden, you are to give Ganthet your ring for a moment." Ubbi added.
"Sure." She said and slipped it off her finger. I guess I don't have any right to be a Green Lantern. It's not like I was chosen by a Guardian. she thought.
"Thank you." Ganthet said as he held it. He had it create a second one. "Jennie-Lynn Hayden, you are now, officially, a Green Lantern." He handed her ring back to her.
"Thanks! Was that a test?" She asked.
"Yes." The one who hadn't spoken finally did.
"Your first mission, Jade," said Ganthet. "is to go to the planet Xudar, and bestow a ring upon Tomar-Dar and escort him to Earth."
"I remember him!" Kyle said. "He was supposed to become a Green Lantern but didn't get a chance because the Corps was destroyed when Hal went over the edge *. How long will it take us to get there?"

"It is Jennie-Lynn Hayden's mission, Kyle Rayner. Yours is to give your battery to Ganthet." Uatu reminded him.
"Oh. Right." now I know how Guy felt about the Guardians. He thought to himself. "Have a nice trip, Jen. See you soon." They kissed and she vanished. "Hey!"
"It's all right, Kyle." Ganthet said to him. "Let's go get your battery."
The pair vanished from the room. Kyle didn't even know that they had been on Earth's moon.
