I met Kittie on May 17, 2000 in Seattle. This is what happened:
i got to the venue around 5. doors opened at 6. now instead of being nice and telling us no cameras allowed while we were in line, they told us as we were going inside. so i had to check mine at the bar for a dollar. that really pissed me off cuz i really wanted to take pictures. blah. okay so i get inside and i get a good standing spot right up front on the right hand side next to the speaker. my friend kirsten came over and got me while klay kept my spot. she asked me if i saw the chick standing talking to the guy selling shirts. she was wearing a slipknot sweatshirt and the hood was on her. i told her i saw her. kirsten told me it was mercedes, kittie's drummer! then i see mercedes walking away and i see my friend brigette coming the opposite direction. i was like oh brigette is gonna walk right past mercedes and not even know. after she did i told her that she had and she was like SHE TOUCHED MY SHOULDER! well we went back to our standing spot which i had found. the stage crew was setting up for the first opening band, the step kings. brigette handed one of them an envelope to take back to kittie which had 4 bracelets, a letter and a picture of her. he took it back to them. after he told us he gave it to them, i looked to my right and there was mercedes, chillin on the side of the stage. so i waved to her and gave her five and asked what was up. i told her that i made the shirt i was wearing just for them and she said thank you. then i handed her a letter i had written them and a little thing i made in art that said kittie on it. she took them backstage. for the entire step kings set, mercedes was on the side watching. while the second band, shuvel was setting up, the rest of the band was on the side of the stage. i waved at all of them. my friend klay tapped me and asked what the name of my favorite was. i told him i would tell him if he didnt yell it out. he said
he just wanted to know. so i told him it was talena. then, as i had expected, he yelled "HEY TALENA!! SHE WANTS YOUR BODY!!" to her while pointing to me. she looked at me and smiled while morgan, fallon and mercedes were laughing slightly. i just smiled back. klay kept making gestures to the band that i wanted them, and fallon blew me a kiss. while
the crew was setting up for kittie, morgan was on stage kneeling down. so i handed her a pen and asked her if she would sign kirstens ticket for her. so she did. then she signed a waterbottle for brigette that mercedes had given her, then she signed my shirt and was on her way to get ready for their set. mercedes was first on stage, standing behind her drums motioning for the audience to stop yelling. then fallon came on stage with her head down, put on her guitar and faced her back to the audience, then talena came out and i put my hand out and she barely touched it as she went to her spot on stage, put on her bass and faced her back to the audience. then morgan came on stage, kneeled down and lightly hit herself in the head with her microphone until their set started off with "spit". i dont remember what order the other songs went in, but i know they played "charlotte", "suck", "do you think im a whore", "brackish", "trippin", "raven", "paperdoll", and a cover of pink floyd's "run like hell". then a lady came on stage as the girls were walking off it and told us the fire dept was closing the show because some code was violated. all the lights came on and i noticed everyone else leaving right away. well i wanted to give talena my bracelet so i just stood there. i saw her behind a speaker near the back of the stage and i yelled her name. she waved and i held up my bracelet, and motioned to her i wanted to give it to her. so she came over to me and i handed it to her. then i handed her a pen so she could sign brigette's ticket then mine. then a whole bunch of people showed up behind us and handed her stuff to sign. some guy gave her a cigarette and brigette held her hair back while someone else lit it. well the crowd had died down and brigette was turning around to give talena a handshake but asked for a hug instead, and got one. then i said "me too" and she gave me one. i almost fainted. then i walked outside to meet rachel and klay to leave. it was only 10:20 but i had to be home by 11 or my parents would kill me since it was a school night. but i still had a great time.
