DX NOTES

QRT CONFIRMS P5/4L4FN. - For who doubts that the government of Korea of the North closed the operation of P5/4L4FN, this is Ed's explanation P5/4L4FN: Dear friends all. Yes the really unfortunate thing happened but, and I cannot make anything. Believe me, I was trying to maintain the P5. I have operated more than one year, but the end came unexpectedly and now all we have to accept it as last QRT of P5/4L4FN. This is due to the recent changes in the political life of Korea of the North. But I have had the opportunity to make happy to a small part of the radio community fond with the card of P5/4L4FN qsl card. Now maybe several years will pass so that they see another QSL of P5 in the world again. The team will keep it very near me. I thank to the whole radio world liking all their valuable support. I wish them the best thing. 73 of former Ed P5/4L4FN.

WORTH QSO'S DE P5/4L4FN. - In "ARRL News" it was informed that from principles of November of the year 2001 Ed had been operating 4L4FN as P5/4L4FN from Pyongyang Korea of the North, in his free whiles after his works as employee of United Nations in the World Program of Food, and they are reminded to all those that QSO has achieved with that station that the official statements in way SSB is accepted for the DXCC, and in way RTTY is accepted from November of 2001, according to information of Bill Moore NC1L, DXCC Manager. http://www.amsatnet.com/p5.html

MULTIMODO MIXW NEW VERSION. - it has already arisen the version 2.06 of the excellent board multimodo MixW, with those that you can work PSK31, RTTY, CW, SSTV, Hells, Packet, Pactor, Amtor, MFSK, Throb, MT63. It presents some improvements regarding the previous version. This is a version Beta, for what is possible that it can contain some flaw, for what is recommended that the report, in the event of finding some. http://mixw.net/files/MixW206n.zip (Gracias HJ3ORT José Luis).

AWARD ALEJANDRO THE BIG one. - For the hunters of Diplomas - Awards - in this page you will be able to find all the information on the popular DX Award "Alexander The Great Award" in http://www.qsl.net/sv2ael/index.html  (Thank you Savas Pavlidis SV2AEL).

DXPEDITION CANCELS. - Hiro HR3/JA6WFM reports that the DXpedition that had planned to carry out to Filthy Key (NA160) it won't be possible to carry out it because he will have to return to its work in Japan, December 8. (Thank you HR3/JA6WFM and Yuki JI6KVR, of IOTA-JA).

SUBSTITUTIONS OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS. - Already this available one the software of substitutions of electronic components, version 10.0. The interested ones can go to: http://nte01.nteinc.com/webforms.nsf/qcsignin?openform  The file is so of 7 Mb he takes a little in descending. 73 of HJ3ORT José Luis.

PICTURE GALLERY DE SO7L. - The recent operation of S07L Western Sahara and that it toasted for many the opportunity to contact with that entity of the DXCC with operators of Hispanic speech, he/she already has clever in their page web a series of pictures on the expedition. http://www3.ocn.ne.jp/~iota/newpage39.htm  (Thank you Yuki JI6KVR, of IOTA-JA).

THE CONDITIONS. - Some radioaficionados that operate in the bands from 160 to 6 meters, speaks much of a phenomenon that you call the conditions and they use these two words like "salvation chart". for example: If they use any wire like antenna and nobody listens to them neither neither they hear anybody, it is for blame of the conditions. If they don't complete an appointment in frequency, they apologize saying that they failed the conditions. If they cannot complete the number of QSLs demanded to request a diploma, it is because the conditions don't help them. If a colleague is grown impatient by her correspondent's long and boring comments, you goes down the power from her transmitter to the minimum and she says: "I leave you because we are losing the conditions". If in the chains of services there is not "requirements", it is because... What conditions so bad! If in informative programs few stations are reported, they change the day and the hour of emission, because they don't help them the conditions. If a certain competition is of little interest and he didn't have acceptance, the organizers say that there was little participation for blame of the conditions. If they suffer of deafness it is because "the conditions are erratic". In short... it is needed a lawyer defender urgently for the bad conditions. (73 and I hope they are under good conditions. Beto, HK3ÐÐÐ).

SPACE STATION ARISS. - he Already has a new company the Space Station ARISS with a team only integrated by males and for first time commanded by an American austronauta, the Commandant Ken KD5JBP, while the Engineer of Flight is Nikolai Budarin RV3FB and the official of the NASA Don KD5MDT who will remain in the space during four months. The operations with interested radio and activities with schools, will continue during next three weeks, among the spaces that have after fulfilling their obligations and orderly experiments, as it was informed in a Bulletin of ARRL.

PROPAGATION

Tad Cook, K7VVV, points out in its weekly work on the propagation that for the competition ARRL 160 meters is expected that the conditions in that band are better. It is expected that the solar flow ascends from 155 to 180.
During the week the flow solar average was of 145.1 and the index "K" of 23.

On the other hand Neil Clarke, G0CAS points out in its investigations on the propagation that during the week the flow solar average was of 172. The speed of the solar wind, according to the data of the space ship ARISS was of 360 kilometers per second but it ascended at 800.

It was one week intersante for operators of VHF with several dawns that some meteor DX even spaced during the rain of Leonids achieving openings toward Oriental Africa in 50MHZ with the expedition XT2 that was tranajara in England during several days in finally of the morning or the stocking late. The operations in HF were not good during several days of the week for the interferences inonospheric with a degrading propagation in the highest bands. However, 14MHZ remained reliable with good openings for short and long step, in the mornings.

The presage are of a low propagation. The MUFs during the hours of the day in same latitudes should be among 34MHZ for the south and 31MHZ for the north. And the roads toward America of the South with Europe should have an usable maximum frequency with 50 percent of success around 36MHZ but with 90 percent of success around 26MHz and the best moment should be between 1200 and 1700UTC.
