And when he tells them that it was not certain, they don't believe it. He has tried to convince to the authorities that at international level it is grateful the prefix SY exclusively for the operations from the Mount Athos, but he/she has not been possible to be able to convince to the authorities, up to now.

A THOUGHT
IN THE 2002 we are THE RADIOAMATEUR

But, Who is the radioamateur? And we don't ask, what it is, because the answers can be many.

We prefer to give some ideas on their person and don't have more than enough their liking, because we understand that it is the main thing and what it really cares. Then:

    1. the radioamateurs is, above all, a gentleman, a person of well.

    2. it characterizes it their proceed correction.
    3. he never boasts or she boasts, in frequency, of their successes, of having an excellent team or a magnificent antenna, neither elements of outstanding work, etc. Because he knows and it is conscious that with such attitudes, it can hurt to the other ones. Rather wait that they are the other ones that you praise him and when it happens this way, it subtracts importance to what you tell him or, better, it changes matter.
    4. he never boasts of knowing more than the other ones, neither to be him who has the last word. It is limited to listen, before to emblazon or to pontificate about their knowledge. And when she wants to give their opinion she makes it modestly, saving a better approach or he devises.

    5. the radioamateurs is characterized by the correction of its proceed.
Never search to get advantages or benefits, for illegal or not very clear roads, knowing that you should arrive to the wanted goals, for the own effort and always for clean roads and in due course of time and season. For mere own esteem and that of the other ones. It is good to be able to sleep in peace because one has the calm conscience that to live restless for not having worked well.

    6. the good radioamateurs is not envious and it is happy with the little thing or a lot that she possesses without being sad because the other ones have better elements. The team or the antenna but face is not privilege of the good ones, but of those that possess more resources; a higher category doesn't mean that the one that has it is somebody more important, but it is, simply, of who has interest in other activities or… more antiquity.

    7. the good radioamateur never enters in frequency when another modulates. It becomes present, among changes, with a short word, as "permission". AND, patiently wait that somebody notices their presence, until they give him opportunity with a "ahead the permission" Only then enters in frequency being identified first, she stops then to greet and, without extending a lot, she gives the word.

    8. the good radioaficionado is measured and cheerful. It is never expressed in inappropriate or unpleasant terms, neither she has a word that impairs others. Neither he reveals for radio, homes or phone numbers or some other fact of a third without the consent of this.

He always keeps in mind that the ether is a half open one, for that reason it is that she prefers to remain silent defects or other people's illnesses or circumstances of the private life of the other ones.

   9. the good radioamateur is also extremely wise and peaceful in radio. It should never denote anger or annoyance in radio, even when it is interfered intentionally. He should have present that who bothers him search, in fact that is inconvenienced, that it is their objective. The best attitude is to demonstrate him cordiality, to invite it to incorporate to the QSO, to ask him kindly, how it is, to interrogate for its family and, in short, to tell him that he/she has a lot of pleasure in to listen to him and to know him; but never to mention to their interference neither their way of acting. The kindness is the best way to drive away it. And if even so it doesn't get it, the wisest thing is to turn off and... to another thing.

   10. In summary: they are good, fair and humble. Because only who loves the rightness, the sincerity, she has good faith and good will and, mainly, it looks for the well of the other ones, above the own one RADIOAMATEUR can call herself.

A RADIOAMATEUR

(sent by the Radio Uruguay Club).

    PROPAGATION

Tad  Cook, K7VVV in its weekly work on the propagation that the drop activity geomagnética favors the good propagation for HF. The solar flow last week reached a very low level of 188.6, but it is expected that for this weekend and until Monday, arrive from 230 to 245, but for next week it could arrive at 260 and then in the first week of February, to lower again. However, she notices that this quiet week it won't continue. The index K 30, 20 and 15 indicate that there will be a storm geomagnética.

On the other hand, Neil Clarke, G0CAS, in its weekly analysis of the propagation, highlights that the solar flow in the first week of January was of 226 and for this second week it is of 264 units. The speed of the solar wind varied between 300 and 500 kilometers per second, according to the report of the space ship ACE.

In the hours of the darkness the average of good frequency is 2.9 MHZ, and the best in the propagation has been every day to the half-day but also during the darkness, among 0300z 0700z. The activity geomagnética has allowed openings in days remained silent in 50 MHZ, but also in the bands of HF there will be good propagation in most of the days of the week. The communications during the hours of the day among stations located in same latitudes will be achieved around the 40MHZ, and in the hours of the darkness approximately in 9MHZ. The roads during the week will be good toward Africa with 50 percent of success around the 35MHZ, but the frequency with 90 percent of success will be around 26MHZ among 0800z 1700z.
The openings in 50 MHZ will probably be among the roads this-east and in other days there will be openings with North America, during the afternoon. And it is foreseen that during the year the conditions will be similar to the last year and also in HF, but they will become better in the 2003-2004.

REPORT OF XE1BEF. - In Mexico, an average of 8 XE is active constantly in the band of 6 Meters. The day January 4, among 0100 2140Z openings were given by scarce 5 minutes in each space, with TG, W7-0 and KL7. January 5 of 0100 o'clock at 0240 o'clock the conditions opened up among XE and the east, west and center of USA. January 6 of the 0000z at 0130z o'clock with W5-6-7. January 7, the opening at 0100z o'clock only during some minutes, it only allowed contacts with about 2 or 3 W5. The days 8, 9, 10 and 11 of January, the band was dead.
