NEWS DX

QSO VHF-UHF VIA INTERNET. - The "DX Bulletin of XE1BEF" she wonders: would it seem you interesting to carry out a QSO in VHF or UHF through Internet? Because you have a good time, because this is already possible, thanks to the eQSO, the Internet Gateway System of M0ZPD. To use it, it is necessary to have license like fond radio, and it is available in: http://www.qsl.net/m0zpd as well as in http://www.eQSO.net but the details for the introduction to the system of the servant RF in http://www.g7wfm.co.uk is also recommended to visit the page of G0WZL who provides the servant of repeater.dns2go.com but it is also available in Italian in http://www.qsl.net/i1hjp and in Dutch in http://home.worldonline.nl/~moertje/repeaters.htm as well as in www.pa3eki.nl (Thank you German HK2JFF).

SUCCESS DE VK9ML. - The "DX Bulletin of XE1BEF" she informs that the biggest expedition that has been carried out up to now in Mellis Reef, and with operation totally QRP with 5 exit watts, that of VK9ML http://www.qsl.net/vk9ml/2002 it was with a lot of success, since in 9 days of operation. of the 10.06z of April 15 at the 19.59 of April 24 - 51,037 Qso's carried out with a total of 15 operators. Of that total, 26,354 Qso was made in CW, as well as 23,164 in SSB and 1,519 in RTTY. In the page http://members.fortunecity.com/xe1bef/recordsDX.htm will be able to find a comparative of efficiency, together with that of other famous expeditions.

TROMELIN. - Jacques FR5ZU informed that it has canceled, for the time being, all its activity in radio from the Island Tromelin that were planned for June and July of the 2002, because she has the cancelled all its future ham activities in Tromelin, because the step of the storm "Dina" for the Island Meeting she left many disasters, including the total destruction of the antennas of Jackes. He hopes to buy a vertical new antenna (R8 or MA5B-HF) if he finds it to reasonable price. If you can help him, it can locate him for the electronic mail jacques.quillet@wanadoo.fr and Jacques thanks us ahead of time. (Thank you Yuki JA6KV of IOTA-JA).

BAND OF 40 METERS. - it is probable that for next year he is solved the problem of the band of 40 meters, and that at the present time the commercial radio stations have increased their use, while the interested radius seeks to operate the band in form sole right. They consider that the main problem is that from 1938 the band of 40 meters is assigned in different form in three areas of ITU, according to the developing text for the Conference ITU-R to be carried out next year. However, it is considered that it would be a potential threat the amplification of the spectrum below the 10MHZ. More information in: http://www.arrl.org/news/bandthreat/

DIAGRAM FREE. - The "DX Bulletin of XE1BEF" she informs that, for those that are interested in having the diagram of the radius Sangean ATS-909/RS-DX398, with all pleasure will be sent without cost some for via electronic mail, to who requests it to HJ3ORT José Luis. hj3ort@yahoo.com (Thank you HJ3ORT).

SUSPENSION. - The expedition of 7W4HI to the Island Habibas, in Africa, was canceled because the bureaucratic steps didn't advance. The organizer of the expedition, OM3JW Steve, is a lot very disappointed, because although it began the preparations with a lot of anticipation, one could not make reality the project.

FALSE VIRUS. - For Internet she spread the information thoroughly that the file jdbgmgr.exe was a virus of which any vaccine doesn't still exist, but that it causes serious damages to the system of its computer, when this is activated, for what was recommended to erase it immediately. And when those that received that mail, checked that in their computer yes that file supposed virus was, they erased it immediately and they sent the message to many more friends, or even to unknown. Regrettably, that file all the computers that use the program Windows 98 have it, because it is part of the program, what represents that if it is erased, it can cause problems for the execution of some tasks. The icon is a bear, but it is not a virus. However, there is not reason to be alarmed. If it already erased it the file, it is simply necessary to look for it in the sesto of the garbage - in the menu of "I begin" - and when finding the file, it is necessary to select it with the mouse and in the menu that appears, to select to restore, and it puts it again where it was. However, the "DX Bulletin of XE1BEF" it recommends him that he doesn't pay attention to all that you order him to say in mail that are correspondents in "chain", because great part of them is false - I eat we already said here it when publishing on the topic -, and the best thing would be that he writes the name of the supposition file that is virus inside some searcher as altavista.com, so that he sees the recommendations of experts, like it is the case of the company Video Soft BBS that you can consult on this topic in http://www.vsantivirus.com/hoax-jdbgmgr.htm

PROPAGATION

Tad Cook, K7VVV, points out in its weekly report on the propagation that the solar flow fell dramatically during the last days, of 190 of last week, at 158 on Thursday. It is expected that it ascends at 170 in next week. On Thursday he registered an eruption in the sun near the sunspot 9948 and he sent a coronal of mass toward the Earth. Saturday and Sunday it revises the band, and it is probable that it is visible a northern dawn.

On the other hand, Neil Clarke, G0CAS, points out that the solar activity was of low to moderate, until the space ship ISS, discovered the beginning of a sudden storm, ascending to 41 nanoTeslas, in the magnetometer of Boulder at the 1028z of the 11. The component magnetic interplanetary north-south remained strongly negative after this during several hours. The conditions of the storm were observed in high latitudes, among 11 1800z.
The propagation in HF was according that foreseen, with good answers in 28 and 50MHZ in sporadic-and, being reported openings between the United Kingdom and Scandinavia at 7 in the morning, and also with the Mediterranean and Scandinavia.
The MUF's during the hours of the light of the day in same latitudes should be around 26MHZ for the south and 23MHZ for the north. When the darkness in 15MHZ what will allow that the band of 20 meters is open the whole day. But the best in the DX will be available through the night or growing dark and several hours after the exit of the sun. The openings between Europe and America of the South should be more frequent with an usable maximum frequency around 30MHZ, with 50 percent of success. But the best thing will be around 21MHZ with 90 percent of success and the best moment will be among 1300 2100z. In Sporadic-and he should put on more available in 28MHZ, but in 50MHZ he will only open up during the most intense openings.
