GOOD PROPAGATION. - During the Competition ARRL International DX SSB of the weekend, registered an excellent opening among America-Europe during more than 6 hours from the dawn of the two days of the competition and that caused that the whole band of 10 meters, from 28.250 khz up to 29.200 was monopolized by operators DX, especially of Europe, motivating that any station of United States and Canada was calling CQ. However, when it finished the opening toward Europe, the conditions were excellent between USA and the rest of America. XE1BEF reports that in less than 10 hours of operation, she had already worked the 50 States of the American Union and 8 States of Canada. Excellent the conditions.     PROPAGATION

Tad Cook, K7VVV, in its weekly work on the propagation, says that the propagation last week was good for 160 meters, as well as in other bands of HF. The solar flow has continued ascending and it is expected that it continues this way next weeks, for up of 200 units. He had been considered that it lowered for the weekend of the competition ARRL DX (but it was not this way).

AE4TM has written on the double crest of the present solar cycle, and during the week you could experience that second crest with a propagation for "backscatter", and it continues every day being achieved contacts to 2700 miles for stations beyond the line of view 50-100 miles. This is due to that the densities of the highest electron take to the highest frequencies to be reflected vertically - F2 - allowing complex bends that allow strange contacts.

K9LA wrote and he says that the MUF monthly average during December of the 2001 was approximately of 2 MHz superior that in December of the 2000, according to the data of one ionosonde in Abilene, Texas. The flow solar average will be of 198.7 and the index K average 5.4.

On the other hand, Neil Clarke, G0CAS in its weekly study, highlights that the solar flow arrived to 223 units in last week. The solar wind, according to the data of the space ship ISS, increased of 340 kilometers per second at 500.
The day 24 were the best around the 14.4 MHZ, and when the darkness in 4.2 MHZ. The bands of HF continue under excellent conditions.
In 50 MHZ you propagation between America of the North and Europe, but with Australia it was reduced between the 0930 and the midday UTC, while Japan stops he opened up with Europe on Thursday in the morning, toward the Indian Ocean.
In their presage, he hopes it continues increasing the solar flow around 200 in the weekend. During the hours of the light of the day it will be around 40MHZ for Europe and when the darkness around 11MHZ. The roads to the Japan will have 50 percent of success from Europe around the 30MHZ but the maximum frequency with 90 percent of success it will be around 21MHZ among 0800 1100z.
