The Curse of Memory - By Emily Marchese ©

When I think of him
In my rocking chair
Surrounded by pictures of my life
All I remember is his eyes.
I can't remember what color his hair was
Or the flow of his voice
Be damned if I could remember what it was I loved about him
But those eyes are in all of my paintings.
When I had my children I wished they had blue eyes.
When my husband kissed me at our wedding
Dancing with my father
Looking in the mirror.
Now he could be anywhere.
I don't even have a name.
But when I think of him
In my rocking chair

Surrounded by pictures of my life.

The Shamrock, at one time called the "Seamroy",
symbolises the cross and blessed trinity.
