There are many wrestling promotions in our area. What differs World Professional Wrestling from the others is our dedication to providing quality family entertainment at a fair price. World Professional Wrestling's motto is "The Fans Are The Reason!" We believe that our reason for being, and for everything we do as a wrestling organization, is for you, the fan.
So while each WPW show is a unique event in itself, our talent will never fail to give you their all. Our shows are known for their professional look. Many times our shows are taped for later broadcast on our weekly TV show, WorldPro. Our History World Professional Wrestling is an organization that has its roots in the old Saturday Nite Rasslin' TV show that aired on WOAY-TV, Oak Hill/Beckley in the early 1970's. When that organization went under, many local indy groups began to run the old territories. One such promoter was Steve Podunavac who worked the southwestern part of West Virginia out of Logan, WV.
In 1990, Psycho & The Doctor began to work for this promotion. By 1993, Steve had hired Jeff Lane (aka The Doctor) to be the head booker of WPW. Lane booked the talent and the facilities for shows. He also produced a weekly TV show. In 1999, Lane licensed the World Professional Wrestling name for himself and began promoting his own shows. Our Mission World Professional Wrestling believes its shows are the very best in family entertainment available today. Our desire is to bring the best talent available to your area. We will use current and former stars of the WWF, WCW, ECW and NWA, along with some exceptional local talent in order to provide you with the highest quality show possible.
