Chapter 1
The beginning of everything.
1971 the 12th of April will be a day for many Shannen fan's to remember.
This was the day that the star Shannen Doherty was born.
No one could have guessed that she would be come a person who is as much hated and loved by many people.
She has a mother named Rose who works in a beauty parlour and a father named Tom, a real estate agent. A brother named Sean, born in 1967.
The whole family lives in Memphis, Tennessee until they move to LA.
Her father starts there a West Coast branch of the family transportation business.
In LA Shannen begins to have interesting for acting she is then at the age of seven. When she was 8 and half years old she went to watch her best friend audition for a Children Theatre Production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The director of the play ask her to do audition. Shannen agreed and landed one of the lead roles. She found out that she liked acting very much so she begged her parents to sign her in with an agent, but her parents didn't want her to go acting. They where worried that the show business might corrupt her. After two years of constant pleading they finally gave in. Within a short time Shannen landed her first acting job. She was the voice of Teresa in The Secret of NIMH. Followed by roles in TV commercials. In 1981 she appeared in an episode of Fathers Murphy
She always watched Little House and she adored Micheal Landon, the director and also acted in Little House. She dreamed of working with him.
As did many but she exactly got the chance to work with him.
In Little House she played Jenny Wilder. She stays there as a regular for a year. This show changed her live.
After Little House she lands role after role in episodes of various TV series such as: Magnum PI playing Ima Platt, Airwolf playing Phoebe Danner, Highway to heaven playing Shalley Fowler, 21 Jump Street playing Janine and Life Goes On playing Ginny Green.
Though she loved the work, she dreamed of having another role as a regular on a series. In 1986 her dreams comes true. She get's the part of Kris Witherspoon in Our House. There she was one of the children with the lost father.
The story of Our House :After her father died. She goes with her mother, her sister and her brother living at her grandfather. Adjusments to the new arrangment is not easy on one of them.
Unfortuneatly this show lasted less then two seasons. Because of this Shannen decides to concentrate on her school work. At time she was in a private high school called Lycee Francias trying to keep up her high greads.
Shannen pefered being by herself more then playing with other childeren.
"I wasn't a part of one partugular clique. I had friends in all cliques I was my own person. I've always been a very secure person"
She said in the early ninties.
"My opnion is: if you like who I am , that's great but I am not going to change because of you"
She finished her studies at at the Lycee Francias.
During High School she took the time of the make the movie Heathers. She'd read the script and found it interesting. In Heathers she plays the role of Heather Duke, one of the three heathers.
The story of Heathers: Three high school girls named Heather run an iron clad social clique at high school. One of their anointees, Veronica, isn't sure she wants to fit into the clique, particularly when she has to snub some of her old friends at the Heathers' behest. When Veronica meets the new guy at school, she starts pulling away from the clique, while some of the more popular students start showing up dead with suicide notes.
This movie was a big succes . Shannen thinks her bitch reputation started with this movie.
