This is Roman Shchepin's home page!

Hello visitors!

On this page, I would like to introduce myself as the author of WinMopac7. My name is Roman Shchepin (The picture that you can see is 3 years old, so I am planning to add new photos soon). Currently, I am a graduate student at University Nebraska Lincoln, USA. I started to work on WinMopac7 couple years ago, while I was studying for a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry at Perm State University, Russia.Clik here for best view...

Several years ago, I’ve become interested in semi-empirical calculations of chemical molecules and reactions. Very soon I’ve discovered that only few computer programs for such kind are available on the Internet for free. This has led me to the conclusion that I need to create my own. As a calculation engine, I choose MOPAC7, which source of code was available for free for a noncommercial use. RasWin viewer was used as a visualizing agent in our program package. With kind help of Dmitriy Litvinov, I've spent a year assembling the program.

This program, in my opinion, is the best product of this type, which can be downloaded freely. Letters from all over the World keep coming to my e-mail. I always happy to here your replies and suggestions, which help to improve the program further…

P.S. Hope that now you remember me.
