Giles was walking along the beach to clear his
thoughts. He looked out at the shimmering ocean,
admiring the way the sun glinted off the water. As he
continued to walk, he noticed a giant rock on the
sand. The rock seemed out of place, since there were
no other rocks nearby and no rocky coastline.
He squinted. It looked like there was someone on the
rock but he wasn't sure who. Coming closer, he
realized it was a woman..no not a woman. It looked
like a mermaid!
He shook his head. 'It can't be' he thought, as he
stepped closer. He gasped. It was a mermaid! A mermaid
that looked like...Willow?
She had the same fiery red hair and sparkling emerald
eyes as Willow. Her skin was like porcelain and where
a pair of legs should have been was a green fin. But,
what really convinced Giles that it was Willow was the
smile. He would recognize that smile anywhere. The
smile that was pure gold and made him happy whenever
he saw it.
He grinned back at the mermaid. "Willow?"
She smiled wider. "Hi, Giles. Guess you're wondering
what's going on, huh?"
"Yes, the thought did cross my mind. Why are you a
mermaid?"
"I was doing a transfer spell and it backfired. I
accidently changed myself into a mermaid." She pouted.
"And I don't know how to change back."
He climbed onto the rock and sat beside her. Stroking
her cheek, he said. "Don't be sad, Willow. We'll find
something."
She looked down at her fin and started to cry softly.
"What if we can't? I'd have to live the rest of my
life as a mermaid. Like I need a fin to make me less
attractive than I am already."
Giles frowned and he grabbed her shoulders. "Now,
listen to me Willow. I won't hear anymore of this
nonsense. Do you understand me?" He gazed at her,
waiting for an acknowledgment. She nodded ever so
slightly. "First, I assure you we will find the
solution. I don't care how long it takes, we will find
it." His eyes softened. "Second, you're beautiful,
Willow."
Her eyes widen even more at his words. "I am?"
"Yes." He smiled tenderly. "As a mermaid and as a
human. Nothing could ever change that no matter what
you are, you'll always be beautiful."
She smiled brightly. "Would you still want to be with
me?...I mean.." He put a finger on her lips to silence
her.
"I'll always want you Willow. Don't you know that by
now?"
She kissed his finger and smiled. He leaned in,
pressing his lips gently to hers. She began to kiss
him back, her tongue seeking entrance into his mouth.
Opening his mouth for her, she slipped her tongue
inside and began to assault his. Their tongues dueled
wildly as their passion grew with each passing moment.
Giles wrapped his arms around her, crushing her to
him. She instantly did the same, her arms encircling
his neck, her fingers tangling in his hair. The kiss
grew more passionate, more fierce, each one trying to
dominate the other.
After awhile, they both pulled back, needing air.
Grinning at her, Giles said, "C'mon, love. Let's take
you home."
And with that, Giles picked up Mermaid Willow and
carried her off into the sunset, like a gallant knight
from a fairytale.
