So
it was settled: me and Dorothy were going to spend a night out on the town
with the Westlife guys... Someone up there probably liked us very much!
Bryan mentioned that it could take Kian HOURS to fix his hair, so me and
Dorothy arranged a meeting with the guys "downstairs in an hour- hope
that will do!" and rushed home in a cab to get ready.
- Oh, you look good!- I said as I finally made it to the hotel and noticed
Dorothy already sitting in the lobby. As if it wasn't obvious- she always
looked good! She had blond, shoulder length hair and a face
of an angel- no wonder all the guys went after her every time!
- Thanks, you look good yourself!-she
replied as I sat next to her.
- Yeah, whatever- I said with no excitement, not really believing what she
has said. I grabbed one of the little cushions that were laying across the
sofa and started playing with it. - So, any sign of the lads
yet?- I asked changing the subject.
- Well, sort of...I saw Kian and Bryan chasing each other around the
hotel. I think Ki shouted something like 'gimme back my comb' or
something..- she began to laugh. - Ki's hair was a mess and Bryan
apologised to me, saying that it will only take a few more minutes...
- ...and how long have you been sitting here?- I asked with a huge grin.
- a half an hour since Ki got his comb back!- she laughed.
- Thought so!- I joined her and now we were both smiling, imaging Ki in a
desperate need for a comb!
Suddenly I stopped and looked at her seriously.
- Sooooo....
- Soooo what?- she looked at me with a questioning look.
- You're getting on very well with Bryan, aren't you?- I smiled cheekily.
- Oi, shut up! It is all your fault!- she exclaimed, half smiling and
blushing a bit.
- Excuse me??
- Well, it was you who THEORETICALLY let him take hold of my shoulder...
- Oh, please don't tell me you didn't like it!- I exclaimed and hit her
with the cushion.
- Ouch! You...- she grabbed another cushion off the sofa and hit me back
with it.
After a while our hair were a total mess, but we still were hitting each
other madly and laughing out loud. Just then we heard some familiar
voices...
- Excuse me...
We both looked up and saw Bryan and Mark standing by the sofa and looking
at us in amusement.
- Yes?- I asked, trying to smooth my hair a bit but I couldn't stop both
embarrassment and a little smile.
- Have you seen two FINE looking ladies around here? We were supposed to
meet them down here 10 minutes ago- Bryan asked smiling widely.
- Nah, there's just the two of us in here- I said trying to sound serious.
- Oh- kay then... What
do we do Mark?- Bryan
looked at him, still grinning.
- I guess we can take them with us...- Mark pretended to hesitate.
I grinned at him - Oh, thank you, thank you, sir!!
We all laughed and just then we saw Shane and Kian approaching.
- Nicky's on the phone with Georgina so we can forget about him having a
night out with us...what's so funny?- Shane asked finally looking at me,
Dorothy, Mark and Bryan but we just ignored him.
- Let's go ladies and gentlemen- Bry exclaimed and, still the four of us
smiling widely, went out of the hotel and got into cabs.
- I'm going with the ladies!- Bryan shouted and put himself into the cab,
where me and Dorothy were already sitting.
- Me too!- Mark followed him, what of course made me extremely happy.
He shut the door and the driver started the engine.
We were off to have the time of our lives... At least I hoped so!
Chapter
5
Loud music hit us with the moment we walked into the club. There was loads
of people dancing to the latest tunes and we all felt like this was the
right place to be.
- Let's hit the dance floor, missy!- Bryan shouted into Dorothy's ear and
took her hand. He walked making funny moves and basically shaking his bum,
while Dorothy laughed at him.
- Oh, he's unbelievable!- I said and looked at Mark standing next to me.
Ki and Shane were already in search for the "good kissing Poles"
I assumed, 'cause I couldn't spot them anywhere.
- Yeah, he is- he admitted and tried to smile. I could tell something was
wrong, because he looked miserable.
- Fancy a dance?- I asked trying to cheer him up, but it didn't work.
- Nah, I'm not in the mood- he looked at the disappointed expression on my
face and let out a little smile
-
I guess I'm not such a good company after all, huh?
- No, I understand. But don't expect to get rid of me that easily!- I
smiled at him.
– Okay- he smiled back - Maybe we'll find ourselves a table then?
- Good idea- I said and soon we found a place, from where we could watch
Bryan's dance moves definitely worth both a dance champion and a clown in
one.
We were sitting there a few minutes in silence when we saw Kian heading
our way with two drinks in his hands.
- Here you go kids!- he put them on the table and smiled at us.
- Oooh, I needed that! You're such a sweetheart Kian!- I exclaimed.
- Well, it seemed to me like not only you needed one- he said glancing at
Mark from the corner of his eye, but Mark didn't even look up. He was
constantly staring at his glass and seemed to be far away with his
thoughts.
- Sooo...- I started trying to ease the tension - have you spotted any
good looking girls, Kian?
His face lit up suddenly but then dropped - I have a girlfriend, you
know..!
– Oh- I smiled - Too bad then.
- Anyway... I'm off- Kian said looking at the crowd and smiling but then
he turned to me with a serious face - ...to find Shane, that is!
- Of course- I nodded pretending to believe him and watched him off.
I looked at Mark who seemed to get more miserable with every minute.
- What's wrong Mark?- I asked, praying that he wouldn't hit me for asking
that question.
- Oh, nothing, really...- he answered and suddenly emptied his glass in a
second.
- Wow...- I said with my eyes wide open - then you have a drinking
problem, sir!
He looked at me.
- You seem to be a very nice girl Kate... - he started and just then I got
a strange feeling...
- ...so forgive me for saying this, but I know you only for a couple of
hours and I can't possibly tell you all about my love problems.-he said on one breath, in a gentle, but firm voice.
– Oh- I gasped, not knowing what to say. I felt hopeless and angry at
the same time.
- I didn't ask you to, to say the truth- I said seriously looking straight
into his eyes. I think he has noticed that I felt a little hurt, because
his eyes suddenly filled with regret.
- I'm sorry, I'm REALLY sorry- he said quickly - sometimes I'm such a
jerk, you know...
I couldn't be angry anymore with him looking at me like this.
- I know... - I nodded and we both laughed a little. - It's okay.- I
smiled at him and he smiled back.
Again, I spotted Bry and Dorothy having mad fun together and I started to
get a bit jealous. I glanced at Mark, who was still playing with his
glass.
- Did I mention Bryan being unbelievable?- I glanced at him with hope in
my eyes and he smiled. 'Thank goodness!’ I thought.
- Yes, you did. Come on!- he stood up and took my hand as he led me to the
dance floor.
Chapter
6
-
Kate!
- Yes!
- You're a fab dancer!
- So are you, Bry!
- You really think so?
- Nah! Just had to say something!
Me, Dorothy and Bryan were having a fabulous time. I can't say that Mark
didn't enjoy it at all, but he still looked a bit depressed. The only
times that we noticed a bigger smile on his face were when Bryan and me
challenged each other for a sort of 'mini dance competition'. In moments
like that also the security guys had a bigger interest in us, as we looked
totally mad!
After a half an hour we were absolutely exhausted.
- I need a drink!- Bryan shouted and headed to the bar. - Do you want
something guys?
- I'd like a Sprite please- I said.
- And I'll have something stronger- Mark sighed, probably relieved that he
didn't have to dance anymore.
- And you Dorothy?
- Umm, I don't know...I'll better go with you!- Dorothy followed Bryan and
I smiled. She couldn't let go off him even for a second!
Mark and I went to the table where we found Shane, sipping his drink.
- Where have you been, Shane?- I asked curiously and sat down beside him,
with Mark on my left.
- Well, you know... here and there...
'Oh no' I thought 'another one with problems!'
Just then Kian reappeared, smiling widely.
-Hi
Ki!- I exclaimed, relieved that at last someone was happy. - I hope that
you're in a slightly better mood than these two here!
- Oh, I surely am! I got her number!- Ki grinned even more.
- Whose number?
- That girl's I met at the bar. Her name's Agata and she's gorgeous- Kian
sat beside Mark and his eyes went all dreamy as he mentioned her name.
- I thought you had a girlfriend?- I asked with surprise.
He suddenly looked like he felt a little guilty.
- Well, yeah... but it doesn't work anymore...- he paused and then quickly
changed the subject - So...where's the happy blond couple? .
- Getting the drinks... oh, here they are!- I almost squealed with
excitement as I saw Bryan and Dorothy coming, 'cause the atmosphere at the
table was unbearable.
Bry must have noticed the guys' faces 'cause he began to laugh.
- Kate?! What did you do to them??
- Me??- I frowned - I'm innocent, you better ask them yourself 'cause
their miserable faces are killing me!
Bryan laughed even more and sat next to Kian, putting the glasses on the
table.
Dorothy squeezed between him and Shane.
- So, who should we begin with... Filan!- Bry pointed at Shane's face with
his finger. - What's the matter mate?
Shane hesitated a little, but we could see that he wanted to spill the
beans on someone.
- I miss Anya...- he said without looking at us.
- Awwww...- we all said in unison and then began to laugh. Even Shane and
Mark smiled a little.
- And you, Egan?
- He's feeling guilty!- I said quickly and then regretted it when Kian
shot me an evil look.
I had to laugh. - Oh, come on guys! You all look so miserable! Where are
those five Irish guys making fun of everyone and everything??
- Back in Denmark with Anya!- sighed Shane.
- Yeah, at home with Rae- Mark added
- At the bar with Agata- Kian replied
- Ooooooh, just SHOOT ME!- I rolled my eyes - Why did I ever ask that
question?!
Dorothy and Bryan started to laugh seeing my hopeless look.
- Come on, Kate, let's leave these sad guys alone and dance some more!-
Bryan suggested and I stood up right away. - Yes, please!
- Kate?- I heard a silent voice and turned around to notice Mark staring
at me. He STILL looked miserable.
- Yes?
- Can I talk to you?
Suddenly I felt very happy and almost shouted 'Of course!' but then I
remembered what made him feeling so down and my face dropped a little. I
still managed to smile though and say:
-Yes.
He looked relieved so I knew I made the right choice.
On the second thought... listening about my dream guy's girlfriend for
sure wasn't a favourite thing to do...
