Crash and Burn> chapters 14-16
I
stormed into the room I shared with Agata and Dorothy, and already at the
door I almost fell as I tripped on one of the bags lying across the floor.
We left them there just before we all went to the restaurant for a little
reunion. -
Damn it! - I hissed and kicked the bag with all my might. It helped, so I
kicked another one. And another. Just as I thought I could actually get
used to kicking these bags, someone cleared their throat. I froze and
slowly turned my head to look at Agata’s bed. And well, there she was.
With Kian. Or should I say: under Kian. Agata had her shirt unbuttoned and
Ki was already shirtless... They were both red faced now, as I
obviously interrupted something, but it didn’t stop them from staring at
me in a strange way. -
Sorry- I said indifferently and left the room as quickly as I entered. I
was in a desperate need for a deserted place where I could get all the
anger out of me. But as for now I was standing helplessly in front of the
door to our room, thinking hard where I could run and hide for the rest of
my life. -
Hey Kate! - I heard somebody squeal and sure enough, there was Dorothy
running toward me through the hall. - Guess what happened!! You’ll never
believe it! – she was literally jumping with joy, making my head spin
even more now. -
I don’t know Dorothy. What happened? - I asked emotionlessly. She
probably felt defended but I couldn’t care less now. -
I assume you don’t feel like guessing...- she stressed the word
‘assume’, looking me into the eyes but I
looked everywhere but her. - ...so I’ll tell you anyway!- she paused,
probably to make a stronger impression on me with her next statement. -
Bryan and I are finally together!! She
jumped with joy once more, almost clapping her hands and I finally managed
to let out a little smile. -
That’s SO great, D!- I gasped and we hugged. At least two out of the
three of us were happy. – I’m really happy for you. And I mean it. - I
said and hugged her even tighter. -
Kate? -she pulled away and looked at me. -You don’t look as happy as you
claim to be. What happened? -
I’m just tired, that’s all- I lied and started walking to the lift.
-I’ll go and get some fresh air. -
Congratulations! - I smiled at her once more and entered the lift. I still
could see Dorothy staring at me with concern in her eyes as the doors were
closing. That
was just my luck. On my way out of the hotel I first almost bumped into
Bryan... -
Hey big guy! I just heard the big news!- I exclaimed and hugged him –
Congratulations! I
left him standing there, smiling to himself and continued my ‘escape’.
But just as I sighed with relief, my eyes met Shane and Anya in the lobby,
holding hands and laughing at something. Unfortunately, they spotted me as
soon as I tried to walk out of the hotel, unnoticed.
-
Kate!- Anya waved and walked up to me. – How is he doing? Is he feeling
any better? I
smiled bitterly. –Oh yes. He is doing much better. Anya
frowned. –And YOU? Is something wrong? -
I’m perfectly all right. Just need to take a walk. I’ve never been to
Cologne before, you know. – I smiled at her and with that I went off. I
was never any good at lying, it was pretty obvious. And Anya didn’t
believe me either, but I didn’t care. I had to get away from all of
them, no matter how much I liked or even loved them. I had to be all
alone, at least for a little while. I
tried to gather all my thoughts as I was walking along Rhine. His
words still echoed in my head, no matter how hard I tried to get them out
and forget about the whole thing. ‘It’s
not right Kate’ he said as he pulled away ‘we’re just friends’. Why
wasn’t I surprised? Maybe because it wasn’t anything unusual for me? A
very long time ago I got used to the fact that the guys I was interested
in never paid any attention to me, and the guys that were interested in me
had nothing to get my attention. ‘...and
so the story continues’ I thought as I kicked a little stone into the
water. I sat on a bench and wrapped my arms around my legs. He
never said he didn’t want me because he still couldn’t get over
Rachel. Or because he was still too depressed after his grandfather’s
death to have any sort of a relationship just now. It would be much easier
for me to handle if he had said just that. I
was just a friend. But even being a best friend wasn’t making it any
easier for me. I couldn’t help the fact that I wanted more. But what did
I say to him then? I
laughed out loud as I remembered my own words: ‘You’re right, Mark.
Let’s just forget about it’ He
nodded thankfully, very relieved. ‘I’m sorry. I got carried away’ he
whispered, avoiding any sort of an eye contact with me. Not even
mentioning a reassuring hug or touch. Yea,
let’s just forget it. It should be easy. Not. I
almost jumped when someone tapped me on the shoulder. -Anya...-
I smiled at her. Surprisingly, I wasn’t upset seeing her here,
interrupting my thoughts and seeing my little misery. I think I just got
onto the stage when I needed someone to talk to. -
How about a little girl- talk? - she offered. -
I’d love to- I sighed and smiled at her. She sat down right next to me
and poked me in the arm. -
So..? Talk, girl! -
Uh, I don’t know where to start... -
At the beginning?- she said seriously, obviously trying to help me out. -
It’s the end that worries me most...! - I sighed heavily as I remembered
the ‘after- kiss’ events and then laughed hysterically. – Briefly
said, I’m in love with a guy that wants me only as his best friend and
nothing more. Tragic, huh? Anya
just shook her head. – Did he tell you that? Or did you figure it out by
yourself? -
He told me that. – I paused - Hey, at least he was honest to me. -
I think you should give him some time, Kate. He’s not feeling very well
now, you know what I mean. -
I thought so as well An, but he never mentioned it. He said we are just
friends and suggested we should leave it this way. She
looked at me sympathetically when I said simply: -
It’s not the time he needs, it’s a girl who’d love him. And whom he
would love back...
Chapter
15 I
was sitting in my room alone, slightly bored. After a few attends to watch
TV, I got out a book from my bag. The book that I took from home not
really believing I’ll be needing it. Unfortunately, the situation has
changed, as the rest of my friends didn't really feel very sociable that
night. Let’s just say that Anto and Nicky, who shared rooms with either
Kian or Bryan, had to get themselves a new room... I
haven’t seen Mark since our unfortunate talk earlier that day. I have
done a lot of thinking for the last few hours and decided to go and talk
to him, but I didn’t really have the guts to do it. I knew I was being a
total coward but still, acting normally after all that happened seemed
impossible. I
was a little surprised as I heard a knock on my door. I had no idea who
could that be: it wasn’t hard to guess that all the couples were
„busy” in their rooms since we all decided to have a night in. It
couldn’t be either Anto or Nicky ‘cause they both settled for the
hotel bar. Could that be...? -Mark...-
I gasped as I opened the door and noticed a tall figure behind it. He
smiled shyly at me. -Can
I come in? I
was in a state of shock for a few seconds, so it took me a while to answer
his question. -Ah...
of course - I let him in and closed the door, watching him sitting on my
bed. He
glanced around the room and then smiled slightly. -It’s
very tidy in here. I
smiled back at him –Oh, you know... I already lost two of my roommates,
so there’s no one left to mess this room anymore. I
frowned as he blushed when I mentioned Agata and Dorothy. -That
reminds me... I hope you’re not angry that I came here? -Of
course not! - I shook my head vigorously. -That’s
great.... ‘cause I didn’t feel very comfortable in my room anymore....
- as he was saying this, he turned a deeper shade of red. I didn’t get
it at first, but then I remembered that Mark’s room was just in between
Agata and Kian’s and Bryan and Dorothy’s rooms... I
had to put a hand on my lips to hide my smile. But he noticed it anyway
and frowned. -Kate...
it’s not funny! I can hear them making out! – I totally cracked up at
this point, ignoring Mark’s angry looks and the fact that he was getting
redder and redder. -I...
I know...I’m...sorry- I was laughing so hard now that tears started
forming in my eyes. Looking at angry Mark made me laugh even harder. -Well...-
I started, wiping my tears away- we’re not really safe in here either...
Shane and An are sorta next door...- I giggled watching Mark’s eyes
widening. -There’s
no escape then... They’re like... the worst! - he said in a fake,
terrified voice, obviously noticing the funny side of it all. I
sat down right beside Mark on the bed, still giggling, but then got up
straight away. He looked at me, surprised. -What’s
the matter? -It’s
a BED- I said uneasily. -So?-
his eyes got wider and I almost saw a big question mark in his eyes. -Remember
what happened when we were both sitting on the same bed? – I said
blushing a little. It
was his turn to laugh. -You
know Kate, I CAN resist you..! I
smiled, not wanting to admit defeat. -I
don’t think that’s possible!- I exclaimed and finally sat down beside
him. –I’m doing it on your own risk! He
laughed once again. –It’s great to have you back... -Yea,
you too- I smiled to myself
as we hugged tightly. I was afraid it was never going to happen again,
but fortunately, I was wrong. On the second thought, I couldn’t
let him win this ‘bed thing’ that easily... -You
see, you’re starting already!- I exclaimed, taking his hands off my
back. –You better get yourself a bucket of ice cold water and THEN you
can come back! He
surprised me by getting up straight away. -I’ll
be right back!- he exclaimed and with that, he ran off. He didn’t leave
me much time to get out of just another shock, ‘cause he came back a few
seconds later, holding something in his hand. -I
didn’t find cold water but I’ve got this!- he shouted and showed me...
a video. –It’s „The Matrix”! I
jumped out of my seat at this title. – You have to be kidding me! It’s
„The Matrix”!! He
frowned and looked intensively at me. –Didn’t I just say that...? -I
LOVE that movie!- I exclaimed with excitement, ignoring his confusion and
tore the video off him. -Can
we watch this now? Please...?- I looked at him with puppy eyes. -Well...-
he pretended to hesitate- I thought that we were just going to watch the
pictures on the cover and maybe read the intro on the back, but on the
second thought... -Brilliant
Mark, just brilliant- I looked at him and started clapping my hands –
You actually told a JOKE! He
shot me an evil look and put the videocassette into the VCR. We then
settled comfortably on my bed and watched the movie. Halfway through it
Mark got up and turned it off, just as another of my favourite scenes was
about to come up. -What
are you doing?!- I screamed at him but he didn’t move. -If
you’re gonna say ‘he’s SO hot’ one more time, we’re done with
this movie for today! -I
can’t promise anything.- I said firmly, trying to hide my laugh. -Okay
then- Mark turned it on once again and sat back down. – Besides....
I’m way better looking then he is! Oh,
that was enough. I just started laughing hysterically. –In your dreams!-
I exclaimed and threw myself on the bed. –That was the best joke I’ve
EVER heard! Mark
tried hard to hide his laughter. – This is it, Kate! You’re gonna get
it this time! With
that, he grabbed a pillow from my bed and threw it at me. I stopped
laughing, surprised, and just as I was about to hit him back with another
pillow, I heard something that made me freeze with my hand in the air. -Oh
God, I can’t believe it...- Mark sighed deeply and tried to hide his
head in his arms, but it obviously didn’t help. I gotta admit, the
noises coming from Shane and Anya’s room were kinda loud... All
I could do was sit there and laugh... *** Mark
went back to his room about 1 a.m. Not much later Dorothy came back, which
has really surprised me. -What
are you doing here?- I asked, turning the lights on and looking at her
face filled with happiness. -Don’t
I live here?- she asked back, with a big smile on her face. -I
just thought you were going to stay with Bryan tonight...- I winked at
her. -Not
yet!- she winked back and headed to the bathroom.- He’s not gonna get so
lucky just yet! I
laughed a little and laid back. -And
what you’ve been doing tonight? Anything interesting?- she shouted from
the bathroom. -Well,
kind of... We were watching „The Matrix” with Mark... and listening to
the strange voices coming out of Shane’s room..!- just remembering
Mark’s face in that moment made me giggle uncontrollably
Dorothy’s
head popped out from behind the door. –Sounds like fun...- she then
pulled a disgusted face.- You know, Ki and Agata are not much better! -Oh,
Mark had told me how he had to leave his room before the moaning from his
neighbours’ rooms has gotten louder and more intense!- I laughed and
watched Dorothy’s head popping out once again. -He
has heard us?!- her eyes widened and she turned red. -I
think so... it just shows how much fun you lot had!- I cracked up laughing
for the millionth time this evening. -Oh
shut up Kate!- she threw a towel at me and I squealed. -It’s
wet!- I threw it back at her but she dodged it. – By the way... do you
guys have some OTHER plans for tomorrow? -I
think so – she walked out of the bathroom, drying her hair with a towel.
– We should go out clubbing finally! -What
a relief!- I gasped – I thought we’re gonna have the same boring
routine every night: snogging, snogging, oh and let’s not forget-
snogging! -Very
funny Kate!- Dorothy said amused.- Although I wouldn’t have anything
against it! -I
bet you wouldn’t...- I sighed and went to sleep.
Chapter
16 -
...picture me all over you... picture you all over meeeeee.......baaaaby
you’re the star of myyyy private movieeeeeee...! I
opened my eyes and sat up straight on my bed, trying to shake off bad
memories of the nightmare I just had. But just as I woke up properly, I
realised it wasn’t a dream- Dorothy WAS singing „My Private Movie”
under the shower... I
sighed heavily and rubbed my poor head that was tortured at that point by
Dorothy’s loud attempts to sound like Shane. It was hardly bearable, but
I somehow put up with it as I got up and started to look in the closet for
some clothes to wear. But when she started to sing with bass... -
Dorothy!- I squealed and covered my ears.- Have mercy! A
few minutes later the water in the shower stopped running and Dorothy’s
head popped out of the bathroom. -
Morning- she exclaimed happily. – I didn’t know you were up already! I
smiled bitterly and said with a big doze of irony in my voice: -
Well, I wasn’t until you decided to hurt my hearing a few minutes ago! -
Oh, temper, temper!- she laughed at me and disappeared again in the
bathroom, leaving the doors half opened. – You’re just jealous of my
talent!- she added jokingly and started brushing her teeth. I
sat on my bed again with a pile of clothes I just got out of the closet
and looked at the clock. It
read 7 a.m. and I started to wonder if any of the guys was up yet, but I
quickly got rid of that thought. As far as I knew they had a few
interviews coming at 9 o’clock, so they still had plenty of time to get
up. Dorothy
finally got out of the bathroom in her dressing- gown. It wasn’t hard to
notice how cheerful she was today- she just chatted away like no tomorrow,
not really caring if I was listening to what she was saying or not. I
watched her running around the room in the search of a T-shirt, a pair of
her favourite jeans, finally the hairbrush and her lipstick- and
continuously talking. I couldn’t help but smile widely. It
didn’t happen very often to see her radiating with happiness like that.
No doubt about it, my best friend was in love. As
I took a shower and got dressed, we both headed downstairs to the
restaurant to have breakfast. Just as we thought, none of the guys or the
girls was there yet. We sat down in a corner of the room and waited for a
waiter to arrive. -
So...- I began, smiling cheekily at Dorothy.- What happened last night,
huh? She
froze with the menu in her hand and- just as I expected- she blushed. -
You don’t hesitate too long to ask that kind of questions, do you?- she
shook her head with disbelief, but I could see a smile playing on her
lips. -
Of course not!- I exclaimed and put down my menu. – Besides, you won’t
fool me honey, I know you’re dying to spill the beans on me! She
sat back in her chair and smiled sheepishly. – You know me too well! I
just laughed in response. The waiter came and we ordered our breakfast. -
Kate...- she started as he went away. - It was amazing!-
her eyes got dreamy and I couldn’t help but smile. – We were
just sitting there and talking for a couple of hours about everything.
He’s just perfect: funny, sweet, handsome and smart... – she drifted
off, smiling like no tomorrow. – Not forgetting the fact that he’s a
brilliant kisser, too! I
laughed at that. – So what made you come back to our room instead of
staying with that smart, handsome and good- kissing guy? -
Well, I was just being merciless!- she smiled with triumph and bit a piece
of toast that the waiter has just brought together with the rest of our
breakfast. Just
as I was about to eat, I noticed Agata coming into the restaurant. I waved
at her and she smiled, approaching our table. But just as she saw Dorothy,
she made a move as if she wanted to turn around and go away immediately.
Dorothy had a similar reaction to see Agata. Nothing new there... -
Hey Agata!- I greeted her as if nothing has happened. She sat down beside
me and smiled, not paying any attention to Dorothy, who suddenly lost her
appetite... -
Hey Kate.- she greeted me back, completely ignoring Dorothy. - What are
you having?- she asked, peering into my plate. -
Oh, nothing special...- I smiled. – Some toasts and orange juice. I’m
on a diet, you know...
Agata
frowned and took a menu from the table. -
Well, I’m not having any of these, I won’t torture myself!- she said
firmly and ordered some eggs with bacon as soon as the waiter arrived. -
Yuk!- It was Dorothy’s turn to frown with disgust.
– I wouldn’t eat that for anything in the world! Agata
obviously sensed a good opportunity to tease Dorothy, ‘cause she smiled
evilly. -
Good for you! You sure need to count the calories..! I
just knew Agata won’t get away with that and unfortunately, I wasn’t
wrong... Dorothy
had pure anger in her eyes as she got up from her seat. I could swear
she’d slap Agata any minute now... -
What’s your problem?!- she hissed in her face, but didn’t get any
reaction in return. Instead, Agata just sighed deeply and looked Dorothy
straight in the eyes. -
I don’t have one. But it looks like you do. – she said firmly. At that
point I was almost down on my knees, praying that they wouldn’t start a
catfight in this place. Dorothy
obviously calmed down a bit now, because she sat down back at her place,
but that wasn’t over yet. -
Damn right I do!- she exclaimed and paused. I could tell that there was
something she didn’t want to talk about. -
Yea? And what is your problem?- Agata looked more curious then angry now.
I admired her for staying so calm. And I must say I was getting more and
more curious as well. Dorothy
turned her gaze away as if she got ashamed all of a sudden, but then she
looked at Agata again. -
I just don’t like the way you mess up with other girls’ boyfriends! -
Excuse me?!- Agata almost shouted, obviously not less surprised then me. I
wanted to cut in, but finally decided to leave it all to them. It was none
of my business after all. -
I saw the way you were flirting with Bryan that night we all went to the
club! It was the same night you met Kian for God’s sake!- Dorothy
exclaimed angrily, striking her fist on the table. I
looked at Dorothy with disbelief. She was sure of every word she was
saying. Then
again, I could tell from the look on Agata’s face that she was surprised
with Dorothy’s accusations as much as I was. -
I have NO idea what are you talking about!- Agata finally said, shaking
her head. She wasn’t angry anymore, she was so shocked that even I could
see that none of the things Dorothy said was true. -
Oh, please!- Dorothy rolled her eyes. – I saw you and Kian at the bar
flirting like no tomorrow while I was dancing with Bryan. Then I went to
the ladies’ room for a few minutes and it was obviously enough time for
you to chat up Bryan as well, ‘cause when I got back you were flirting
with him! You didn’t even care that I was fancying him! And just to
imagine that poor Kian was too busy getting the drinks for you two to
notice what you were up to! Silence
fell between us. I had a huge chaos in my head. I just didn’t know what
to believe. I glanced at Agata. She was shaking her head with disbelief. -
That’s not true..! - I heard her whispering. – not true at all..! -
Oh yea?- Dorothy noticed that she was close to win that fight over Agata,
so she attacked her some more. – I saw you both smiling widely at each
other and at one point you were laughing so hard at one of his jokes that
somehow it made you touch his chest! What a good excuse, huh? - Dorothy
was still really mad, but at that moment I saw tears shining in her eyes.
She eventually blinked them back and continued in the same, accusing tone. -
And you know what was the worst..?- she pointed with her finger in
Agata’s face, who was staring at the table. – that later on you were
acting like nothing happened! Even when I got back and interrupted your
little flirt with Bry or when Kian introduced you to us! I couldn’t
believe how tricky a person could be! That
was getting less pleasant with every second. ‘That’s it’ I thought.
‘Now they’re never going to get along’. I decided to cut in after
all. I just couldn’t believe all of this and I still had some pieces of
the story missing. -
Dorothy, are you sure you’re right? I didn’t see that and I’m pretty
sure I watched you and Bryan on the dance floor...- no matter how hard I
tried, my attempt to ease the tension failed. -
I wish I was wrong, Kate.- Dorothy said looking angrily at Agata.- But you
couldn’t see that. You walked out of the club with Mark then, remember? How
could I forget? It was the night he told me about Rachel. So Dorothy could
be right after all... -
Agata..? Is this true?- I questioned her. She still didn’t look up, it
seemed like she was thinking very hard about something. I was really
surprised when she smiled widely. -
Now I remember!- she exclaimed, not really paying any attention to our
puzzled looks. Before
I could ask Agata what was that she remembered, I froze. I saw a familiar
figure standing in the restaurant’s door and as soon as the person
noticed us, he waved and headed our way. -
Bryan...- Dorothy mumbled. He
walked up to the table we were sitting at and sat beside his girlfriend. -
Morning everyone! - he flashed us a wide smile. – Morning sweetcheeks!
– he turned to Dorothy and gave her a long and passionate kiss on the
lips. -
Mmmm....- he smiled after they pulled away.- I wish you could stay with me
yesterday... – he said cheekily and Dorothy laughed. -
Be patient...- she whispered and kissed him again. -
Ahem!- I cleared my throat. –People are trying to eat here, you know! They
both smiled sheepishly but Bryan’s face lit up soon after that. -
I’m starving!- he exclaimed and looked at our plates. Just then a waiter
brought Agata’s order. -
Oh, I’ll have what Agata’s having, it looks delicious! I
almost burst out laughing but calmed down immediately after Dorothy shoot
me a look that could kill. -
What’s the matter, darling?- Bryan noticed that something was wrong with
Dorothy and he looked really concerned. But before she could answer him,
Agata cut in. -
Bryan, do you remember the night I met Kian and the rest of you guys? At a
club in Warsaw? Bryan’s
face lit up once again and he looked at Dorothy, smiling widely. – How
could I forget? We had so much fun there, hadn’t we sweetheart? Dorothy
smiled back at him weakly but wasn’t as ecstatic about these memories as
he was. – Yea, we did. Agata
kept on questioning Bryan, who sensed that something was wrong with his
girl. -
Do you remember when I approached you? When you were dancing all alone and
waiting for Dorothy to come back from the ladies’ room? Bryan
laughed out loud at that thought. – Yea, I do! It was mad- I was in such
a good mood that I danced on my own! But then you came and ruined my good
mood!- he laughed even more. Agata
joined him and they both started laughing. Dorothy was as puzzled as I
was. I just still couldn’t figure out what was it all about! -
Do you mind telling us what are you laughing about?- I asked them
curiously. Bryan
looked at me, still amused. -
Well, Kian was getting some drinks for him and Agata and she decided to
find out a little more about him, while he was too busy to notice... Agata
cut in, smiling widely. -... I noticed earlier that Bryan was one of
Kian’s mates and I wanted to ask him... well... if Kian was serious
about me. Or if I was going to be just another girl that a charmer like
him chats up at every club he goes to...
Bryan
laughed again. – Yea, and she got me a bit upset, ‘cause I don’t
like when a nice girl comes up to me and asks about my friend! So I
decided to take advantage of the situation and tell Agata some juicy
gossip about Kian... At
that moment they both started laughing hysterically. I smiled as well. I
knew already that Dorothy got a really bad impression of what Agata and
Bryan were doing together and I felt really relieved. Bryan
was almost choking on his words, ‘cause he was laughing so hard. –
So...I told her about his worst defects... -
...but I was laughing the most when Bry mentioned Kian’s obsession about
his hair... that was brilliant!- Agata couldn’t stop laughing and it was
contagious. I was now so relieved I joined both of them and laughed really
hard. Even Dorothy smiled, but she obviously felt really stupid right now. -
I’m so sorry Agata- Dorothy said shyly. – I was such an idiot to think
you flirted with Bryan...I’m sorry. -
You what?!- Bryan exclaimed, surprised. -
It’s okay.- Agata smiled back at her. – If I only knew why you hated
me so much..!- she let out a little laugh. Dorothy
blushed. –I feel so stupid now. Friends? – she stretched out her hand
to Agata over the table. -
Friends!- Agata smiled widely and shook Dorothy’s hand. I sighed with
relief. -
What is it all about?!- Bryan exclaimed, still puzzled. -
I love you. – Dorothy said and kissed him on his lips. -
I rest my case...- Bryan smiled and leaned toward her. They kissed long
and passionately before Bryan whispered in her ear: - I love you too. Agata
and me exchanged the all-knowing looks and smiled at each other. –Awwww...-
we said in unison. Half
an hour later Anya, Shane, Nicky and Kian joined as at the table. Kian was
extremely happy to hear that Dorothy and Agata finally got along, although
no one wanted to tell him why they didn’t like each other in the first
place. Dorothy has simply forbidden all of us to say a word about it, she
felt stupid about the whole situation already. I was so happy about the
fact that they were friends finally that I was now acting like Dorothy
this morning. I got so chatty all of a sudden that after a few minutes
everyone was fed up with me. They sighed with relief as Mark appeared in
the restaurant, as they thought that he was going to be the one to put up
with me. -
Good morning everyone- he said and sat down beside me. He looked a bit
sleepy. -
What’s the matter Mark? Didn’t you sleep well?- I asked cheekily,
remembering the ‘problems’ Mark had with his neighbours before he came
to my room. Mark
looked around the table and frowned. – Very funny, Kate. I get sick just
by looking at these people.- he frowned even more and I started laughing
really hard. -Oooooooh
Maaaaark.....- I moaned, doing my best impression of the noises we both
heard last night. Mark smiled at me, understanding my ‘cruel
intentions’ and joined the game. -
Kaaaaaaateee babyyyyy...- he said it in such a deep, sexy and loud voice
that some people sitting in the restaurant started staring at us. Everyone
at our table, excluding Mark, Nicky and me blushed hard all of a sudden.
But the three of us had brilliant fun watching them. Anya found something
interesting on a napkin that was laying in front of her, Shane started to
look for something under the table, Kian tortured the food on his plate
with a fork, Agata was looking out the window as if she found something
really interesting there, Dorothy shot us her famous looks and Bryan was
very busy softening the invisible folds on her T-shirt. -
Kate, have you seen so many red faces at one table before? – Mark was
laughing mercilessly at them, but I can’t say I was any better. I was
laughing so hard that I suddenly lost my balance... and fell off the
chair. That
was the moment everyone was waiting for: they started cheering and
laughing at me, finally having their little revenge. -
Look, what you’ve done Mark...- I complained, sitting on the ground and
trying hard not to laugh along with them. – My bum hurts because of you!
– I pointed out and accepted Mark’s arm when he helped me to get up. -
Here, let me rub it so it won't hurt anymore... - he offered and my eyes
got wider as he placed his hand in the air behind my back, ready to keep
his promise. -
Don't you DARE touching it! - I screamed and hid behind Shane. -
