MISSING YOU by Lajla
Oh
baby, I’m missing you We
used to love so strong Tell
me where did we go wrong Oh
baby, I’m missing you They
say I’ll learn to forget But
it sure ain’t happened yet A
tall, blond man was standing by the window with a glass of Whiskey in his
hand, lost in his own thoughts. “You’re
thinking about her again, aren’t you?” – a strong voice brought him
back to reality. “You
know me too well, Nicky.” – the man replied, sighting. “Kian,
I know it hurts, I’ve been there. But the pain does go away. Give it
some time and you’ll see.” – Nicky
said patting his friend on the shoulder. “I’m
not so sure about that. How do you get over someone like Claire? You
can’t, Nicky. At least I can’t.” – Kian
said sadly, looking back through the window. “Time’s
a healer, mate. It really is, no matter how absurd it might seem to you
right now. Trust me, Kian.” -
he said gently. Kian
didn’t answer him, he just gave him a smile. He didn’t believe he
could ever get over Claire, his one-year girlfriend who left him a week
before. And she didn’t even gave him a proper reason why was she
leaving, she just said it’s better for both of them. ‘What did she
mean by that?’, Kian thought, as he made his way out of the hotel. He
needed to get out, he had to try and find her. It was the least he could
do. After all, he couldn’t just sit around the room, thinking about her.
He knew he had to stop thinking about her eyes, her lips, her shiny hair,
her warm heart. He knew it hurt him more thinking about her, but he just
couldn’t help it. Whether he was doing a photo-shoot or an interview,
Claire kept coming back in his thoughts. He couldn’t even concentrate on
anything, whether it was performing, dancing, recording a song, he
couldn’t even write a bloody autograph without thinking of her! Been
checking all the places Where
we used to go Been
looking for your face Inside
the crowd I’ve
been talking to the people That
we used to know But
nobody wants to say Where
you hang out And
when I call your phone Seems
like you’re never, ever home And
you don’t return my calls It
tears me up It’s
breaking up my heart Kian
went inside a pub where he and Claire used to hang out. He was hoping he
would see her there, but no luck. She was no-where to be seen. Just as he
was about to walk out of the pub, he heard a familiar voice calling him. “Kian!
Over here!” Kian
turned around and saw Michael, their mutual friend. “Hey
Mike, how you doing?” “I’m
great, man, how are you?” “Ah,
not so good. Claire left me.” – he said sadly. “Yeah,
I heard that. I‘m sorry, mate.” – he said, cursing himself for
asking that question. “So
am I.” – he said looking at the ground. – “Listen, Mike, do you
maybe know where I can find her?” – he said,
his eyes full of hope. “Kian,
you know you’re my friend and I love you, man, but she kinda asked me
not to say where she is.” – Mike
said, feeling awkward. “So,
you do know where she is?” – Kian said as if he didn’t hear the end
of Mike’s sentence. “Yeah,
I do, but I can’t tell you. I made a promise to her. I’m sorry, mate.
I know how it feels.” – he said sincere. “Seems
that although everybody knows how it feels, nobody is willing to help!”
– he blurted out, getting a bit
mad, because no-one wanted to tell him where she was. “Kian,
I’m sorry, I……” – Mike was taken aback by his remark. “Save
it, Mike!” – he said turning to the exit. He
knew Mike wasn’t the one to blame, but he had all this anger inside of
him and he needed to get it out on somebody. Oh
baby, I’m missing you We
used to love so strong Tell
me where did we go wrong Oh
baby, I’m missing you They
say I’ll learn to forget But
it sure ain’t happened yet He
kept on walking until he reached a small park, where he sat down on a
bench. He took out his mobile phone and for the third time that day,
dialled the number he knew by heart. Just like those three times before,
an answering machine could be heard on the other line. “Claire,
it’s me. Please, call me. I can’t go on like this anymore, it’s
tearing me apart. I can’t work, I can’t sleep,
I can’t eat. I don’t do anything except thinking about you!” – he
said on the verge of his tears. He took a deep breath to calm down before
he started to talk again. He didn’t want to cry. – “Baby, please,
can’t we work this out? Just tell me what did I do wrong, and I’ll do
my best to make it right! Please, Claire, I’m begging you. Don’t do
this to us, you know……” – he couldn’t even finish the sentence,
the sound interrupted him, which meant that the limited time for leaving
the message was over. “God
damn it!!” – he yelled angrily, throwing the phone somewhere in the
bushes. He put his head in his hands,
wondering why did this had to happen to them? They were doing so fine
together. What went wrong? He
knew that leaving all those messages on her answering machine and calling
up to 5 times a day, wouldn’t make much difference, cos she was never
answering and she was never returning his calls. Slowly,
tears started falling down his cheeks, one by one. He never thought he
would cry over a girl, but there he was, crying over Claire, the only girl
he ever truly loved. I
still have you picture Hung
around my room They’re
the only thing That’s
left of you and me Girl,
what can I do To
make you come back soon And
make it just the way It
used to be Oh,
is there someone new Could
never go on without you Girl,
I don’t wanna think about it I
can’t sleep at night No,
this can’t be right Come
back into my life He
didn’t know how, but he found himself back in his hotel room, sitting on
the bed. He put his hand in his pocket, taking out his wallet. He opened
it and took out two photos. One was of him and Claire together. Kian
always thought she fitted perfectly in his arms. He looked at the other
photo, on which was Claire alone, smiling the brightest and most beautiful
smile Kian ever saw in his life. He felt as though he could do anything he
wanted, as long as he had her by his side. But those thoughts were over,
cos he knew she was no longer next to him. He
lay back on the bed, and started thinking why did she leave him. Could
there be someone else involved? Maybe she met someone new? Or maybe she
just couldn’t take the fact that he was never home, and that they saw
each other once a month, if that. He couldn’t blame her for thinking
that, but didn’t one year of their love mean anything to her? All those
countless hours of them lying in each others arms in front of the TV,
enjoying ever minute they had together. Whenever he had even couple of
hours free, he would be by her side in a second, if wasn’t too far away
from their home in Ireland. Oh
baby, I’m missing you We
used to love so strong Tell
me where did we go wrong Oh
baby, I’m missing you They
say I’ll learn to forget But
it sure ain’t happened yet Kian
started thinking about what Nicky told him earlier. That it would get
better with time. Would it really? But Kian didn’t want to feel better
without Claire, he didn’t even think it was possible. The only way he
could be completely happy again, was with her. How could he get her back?
He felt as though he tried every possible way to convince her to come back
to him, but nothing seemed to work. He
remembered all those times when they were vowing each other that their
love would never end, that they would always be together. Maybe it would
be easier for Kian to at least know the reason of her leaving. But then
again, maybe it wouldn’t. If she found someone else, someone better than
Kian, he would be more hurt. He would be in bigger pain to know that she
didn’t love him enough. But
something in his heart was telling him she did love him. He knew that
their love would never, ever die. Something as strong as that could never
really die. And Kian knew she felt the same. He knew eyes never lie. And
all that love he saw in her eyes when she was telling him she loves him,
couldn’t be wrong. He felt better thinking about that. And
deep down in his soul, he felt a little hope. A hope that the two of them
would be together again. He knew that they would come across each other
again, sooner or later. And he was ready to do whatever it takes, to have
his Claire in his arms once again…… I
know there’s a chance For
you and I And
I believe there’s no way Our
love could die So
no matter how long it takes I’ll
wait for you And
whatever it takes I’ll
be there for you I’ll
be there, I’ll be there He
picked up the phone with a smile, to make one last call before he had to
do a photo-shoot. Few seconds later, an expected answering machine could
be heard. “Claire,
this is one last call you’ll get from me. Well, at least until you’ll
be ready to come back to me. I know
there’s a reason why you didn’t tell me why you were leaving, and I
hope when you work out all the things you need to do, you’ll come back
to me. And I’ll be right here, waiting for you. You can be damn sure in
that. Baby, I love you and I don’t have any intension of losing you. So,
I guess I’ll see you in a while, when you’ll be ready. Bye, sweetie, I
love you!” – he said and hung up with a smile. He thought about it all
for a second. He felt better. He had a feeling everything would be just
right. It was only a matter of time. Just
as he was about to leave the room 15 minutes later, the phone rang. Kian
picked it up, and smiled at the thought of who it could be. “Kian?”
– the voice he loved so much said…… Oh
baby, I’m missing you We
used to love so strong Tell
me where did we go wrong Oh
baby, I’m missing you They
say I’ll learn to forget But
it sure ain’t happened yet Lyrics: Missing You by Backstreet Boys
