Creative Dreams> parts 51-53

***A week later and back in the States***

"This whole court thing is wiggin me out and we haven't even been IN court yet." Michelle said to Meg as they strolled through the shops in Beverly Hills. The girls were spending the week in California, recording a few songs for the new album. Next week they were headed back to Pennsylvania for a court apperance for their lawsuit against their manager.

"I thought we weren't going to use the *C* word today?" Meg said looking in the window of a clothing store.

"Oh, sorry." Michelle apologized as they kept on walking.

"Lets talk about......Christmas!" Meg said breaking into a smile.

"I thought you hated Christmas!" Michelle asked surprised.

"I do not hate Christmas! Well I don't this year." Meg smiled

"Why? Because of Bryan...gag me already!" Michelle teased sticking her finger in her mouth.

"Shut -up  Michelle. It'll just be nice to have somebody to spend it with. You know how my parents are...always off on some business trip. Who wants to spend Christmas in a hotel room in like Japan?" Meg went on saying as they walked into a jewelry store.

"Not me" Michelle said looking at glancing at earrings

"What are you getting Kian?" Meg asked looking into one of the glass cases in front of her.

"Good question....I don't have a clue"

"I don't know what to get Bryan...I mean the boy has everything he wants and then some so-" Meg started to say. She stopped when she saw the perfect gift there in front of her.

"What?" Michelle asked looking down at what Meg saw

"Right there" Meg pointed at two matching rings.

"Wow...they're nice Ca-Ching!" She said. They looked like the cost a fortune. The row of emeralds in each silver ring sparkled screaming BUY ME! to Meg

"Promise rings. Its perfect...can I give him those, I mean isn't a guys suppose to do that?"

"What? Don't be so old fashioned Meg, but they do look really expensive, and we aren't exactly rolling in piles of cash" Michelle reminded her.

"Can I help you ladies with anything?" A suited salesman asked the girls. Meg  looked up at him and back down at the rings

"Those, I'll take um!" she said pointing to them. Then she looked over at Michelle and said

"Its only money...you cant take it with ya!" Meg smiled

***

Not far from where Meg and Michelle were shopping Rae, Rissa and Mel were lugging bags of baby necessities in and out of shops.

"OHMYGOD!" Rae said stopping in front of "Claudia's Wedding Boutique" The girls stood there in awe of the beautiful wedding dress there in the window.

"That would look great on you Rae" Mel said

"Yeah, come on you have to try it on!" Rissa agreed grabbing Rae by the arm and leading her into the boutique. Five minutes later Rae walked out of the dressing room. Mel and Rissa were speechless

"What? Does it look that bad?" Rae asked frowning

"No! Its perfect!" Rissa smiled as the three of them stood in front of the gigantic mirror examining the dress.

"Well do you think Mark would like it?" Rachel asked adjusting the little straps holding the dress up.

"Is Mark wearing it? No....you look beautiful Rachel" Mel assured her.  Rae knew she was right, and she felt like a

princess in this dress. It was the most elegant thing she had ever laid eyes on, with the price  tag to match.

"I don't know, I mean I don't even know what kind of wedding we're having....." Rae said thinking outloud. She was trying to talk herself out of dropping that much money on a dress, but it wasn't working, she wanted this dress.

"I think-" Mel began as her cell phone rang. She fished through her bag and finally found her phone

"Hello?" she said cheerfully expecting to hear Meg or Michelle, or Shane maybe

"Hello Mel, this is Benjamin"

"Oh hi" Mel said, it was the girls lawyer.

"I haven't caught you at a bad time have I?" he asked

"Ummm...not what's up?"

"Well, we have a little problem." he said.

PART-52

"They're what?" Mel asked Benjamin again.

"Their suing on grounds that Creative Dreams was unmanageable" he repeated.

Mel took the phone away from her ear for a second and looked at Rachel and Rissa.

"What?" Rissa mouthed.

Mel shook her head and returned to talking when she heard Benjamin's voice again.

"We should have an emergency meeting. Can u girls fly out to Pittsburgh early, like tonight?"

Mel sighed. "Alright. We'll be there tomorrow." then hung up her cell phone.

"Well?" Rachel asked. "What was that about?"

"Benjamin... our management is suing on the grounds that we were unmanageable."

"What?!" Rissa and Rachel said at once.

"I'm not sure of the details. We're flying out tonight." Mel said looking around the Bridal Boutique.

Rachel walked in the back to get changed.

"I'll call Meg and Michelle." Rissa said taking out her phone.

~~~~~~
The next day, Pittsburgh, PA
The girls walked into Benjamin's office.
"Hi girls. Glad u could make it." he said motioning them to have a seat.
"So Ben just tell us the details. I can't take it anymore, what are the saying?" Mel asked quickly.
"Well, their saying your unmanageable. Bar fights, alcoholism, emotional instability, pregnancies... to name a few." he said looking at them.
The girls were speechless.
"Alcoholism?" Michelle asked.
"It says here Megan has an alcohol problem and violent outbursts resulting from drinking."
"What? I did not... I don't have an alcohol problem and I'm not violent." Meg said.
"It also says Melody had violent outbursts i.e. barfights, and an unexpected pregnancy. Rachel's emotionally unstable, problems with an ex-boyfriend, she also drinks too much and all this resulting in personality changes and frequent emotional breakdowns with violent outbursts."
"What? Your kidding. That's not at all true." Rachel said standing up.
"Well, that's what they're saying. I'm sure it'll be all over the papers." Benjamin said.
"That's such bullshit." Michelle said.
"I can't believe this." Rissa said shaking her head.
"What are we gonna do?" Mel asked.
"Prove otherwise. Unless they have some hard proof I'm pretty sure we can win this. I'm just worried about how people will react to the accusations when they get out to the press." Benjamin said.
The girls were quiet.
"Oh god..." Mel whispered.
~~~~~

"I can't believe their doing this." Rachel said crying into the phone to Mark.

"Aw baby don't cry. People will know it's not true. Anyone in their right mind knows you girls aren't like that." he assured her.

"I wish you were here." she said softly.

"Me too." he said sounding sad.

"I miss you so much Mark." Rachel said as tears started running down her face again.

"Please, please don't cry. I miss you more then I could ever say and I feel so bad when you cry." he said trying to comfort her.

Rachel twisted her engagement ring around on her finger. She smiled a little. "I love you." she said looking at her ceiling in her room.

"I love you too." he said.

"I didn't tell my family that we're getting married. I want to wait until we can tell them together. You didn't tell your family did you?" Rachel asked.

"No, I thought we should tell them together. I know they love you, so they'll be very happy."

"Did u tell the guys? I told the girls... I couldn't keep it to myself I had to tell them." Rachel laughed.

"Yea the guys know but I made them swear not to say a word." Mark said.

Just then Rachel's mother called her name.

"I have to go Mark. I promised my mom I'd go Christmas shopping with her and Hannah. I love you. Bye."

"I love you too... bye."

Then Rachel hung up the phone. She took off her engagement ring and put it in her drawer so her mother wouldn't see it.

"Coming mom!" she yelled heading downstairs.

"We're u talking to that Mark again?" Her mother asked.

"Mom... yes I was." Rachel said.

"I don't think I like him."

"Mom u don't like anyone I see! He's the nicest guy and so sweet to me u don't understand..." Rachel started.

Her mother rolled her eyes. "I understand... I just don't like him."

PART-53

"WHAT?! Tomorrow! Tomorrow is Christmas! I have to get to Dublin like now!" Meg yelled to the French woman behind the airline counter. Her flight from Milan to Dublin had made an unexpected stop in Paris because of mechanical difficulties.

"I'm sorry madam, but there is no other flight to any location is Ireland for the rest of the day." The woman tried to explain, but that wasn't good enough for Meg. She was stressed enough as it is from the lawsuit and this situation just made her explode.

"Well that's NOT good enough! Do you know who I am? I'm suppose to spend Christmas in Dublin with my boyfriend! Do you know who he is? What the hell am I going to do now?! I'm stuck here in the freaking airport!" Meg babbled. She never threw her name around like that, or Bryan's either, but she was too upset to care now.

"Madam-" The woman began again

"You know what save it ok!" Meg said walking away from the counter dragging her suitcase behind her and cursing across the airport towards the huge leather seats along the glass walls. She threw herself down in the chair and dug through her bag finding her cell phone. After what seemed like twenty rings Bryan finnaly picked up the other line.

"Bryan!" Meg whined into the phone

"Meg? What's wrong, where are you?" he asked

"Im in PARIS stuck in the airport!" She told him

"Paris? I thought your parents were in Milan for some fashion thing?" he asked

"They were, but something was wrong with the plane and we had to land here, now I'm stuck, I cant get another flight out until tomorrow afternoon." Meg said tears filling her eyes.

"Ok honey, calm down...we'll figure something out ok?" Bryan told her trying to calm her down. He could just picture her flipping on some poor French airline chick.

"This sucks Bry, this really sucks. I'm not suppose to be sitting in Paris crying in the airport, I'm suppose to be with you." Meg sniffled

"Listen to me ok....."Bryan began

"Ok" Meg nodded wiping a few tears off her cheek.

"Get in a cab and go to The Parisian ok?" He told her

"Huh, the what?"

"Its a hotel, just take a cab there ok. We stay there all the time, Ill call ahead and take care of it. Just go there until I figure something out ok sweetheart?" Bryan finished. So Meg went ahead and did wheat he told her to do. Sure enough once she got to the Parisian there was a posh room waiting in her name.

***************************

"No peeking Mrs. Filan" Shane said to Mel as he helped her out of his car.

"What kind of Christmas present is this Shane? Where are we?" Mel asked squeezing her eyes shut and walking slowly as Shane led her a few steps away from the car. She could feel grass under her feet as she walked, but sill couldnt figure out where they were.

"Just a little something for the three of us." He told her patting her stomach, which was really starting to show now.

"But I dont understand why your giving it to me now, Christmas isnt until tomorrow?" She asked as they stopped.

"Ok, now you can look" Shane said. Mel opened her eyes to see a house there in front of her. It looked like something out of a dream, it was that classic.

"OHMYGOD! SHANE!" was all she could say. Mel looked from the house to Shane.

"Do you like it?" he asked even though the look on her face said it all.

"Do I like it? What are you crazy! Its amazing!" She gushed hugging him.

"Wait until you see the inside, and the yard...it'll be perfect for loads of little ones. " Shane told her pulling Mel towards the front door.

**********************

"Yea, well... me, Rissa, and Michelle are flying out tomorrow around noon." Rachel's mother gave her the look again.

"What? Mom... I told you you are all welcome to come. Michelle's bringing her family."

"I don't want to leave here on Christmas day. We should stay home. Just like YOU should be doing. But no... u have to run off to see Mark in Ireland."

"Mom... I wish you would come. You, dad, Hannah, and Justin. It'd be fun." Rachel smiled.

"No." her mother said definitely.

Rachel rolled her eyes. She wanted to get her family over to Ireland so her and Mark could tell both their families at once that they were engaged. She felt bad about leaving her family on Christmas though, she'd NEVER been away for Christmas.

"Mom, if you don't want me to go I won't." Rachel said regretfully.

"Good, I don't want you to go."

Rachel sighed and nodded. "Alright..."

Rachel went upstairs to call Mark.

**

"I know... but I really can't leave them on Christmas. I feel horrible. I'll fly out the day after, I promise but I just CAN'T leave on Christmas." Rachel explained to him.

"Your family won't come over?" Mark asked.

"No... I TRIED. My mother wasn't very receptive." Rachel's mother walked up to her room. She stood outside the door and was about to knock but she heard Rachel talking on the phone. Being as nosey as she was she listen, pressing her ear against the door.

"I know I wanted our families to be together when we told them about the engagement too... but... my mother..." She heard her say. Rachel mom gasped.

"Engagement?"

She opened the door.

Rachel stopped talking. "Hold on... yea mom?"

Her mother cleared her throat. "About Mark... and Ireland... I um... I..."

"I hope you have plane tickets for us to fly out tomorrow." her mother said.

Rachel smiled. "Really?" she asked excited. Her mother nodded.

"Oh mom!!!" Rachel hugged her mother tightly and pick up the phone. "Mark, we're coming over!!"
