I was sitting in the plane but I still couldn't believe that I was going
to see Kate again. She was my best friend but we haven't seen each other
for ages. She left our hometown about three years ago. She found a great
job in Western Ireland in a record company but she found also something
else. Kate met her second half, her little sweetheart - Mark. He was
someone famous but she never treated him this way and we always talked
about him like about a regular guy. I was glad because he always made her
soooo happy. She had a difficult childhood and she deserved the warm love
he was giving her.
Now I was going to their wedding. I couldn't wait for
the ceremony, because Kate wanted me as her bridesmaid. I bought a nice,
pink dress, as she asked me, and also something for the bride for that
"special night". I also couldn't wait to see the most beautiful
place in the whole world - Ireland. So far, I've seen it only on TV and
read about this country in books but it already seemed like the most
amazing place ever.
I was so excited almost jumping on my seat when the
plane started.
But there was something that made me feel a bit scared. It was windy and
clouds seemed to get darker. Then there was this little turbulation
on the plane. I felt a bit sick but thank God I didn't need to go to the
ladies' room. I got out my headphones and turned on a CD to relax. I took
out my fave book and started to read.
The flight was quite calm when suddenly the plane started to lose height.
Pilot and the rest of the crew tried to calm down all the screaming
passengers but nothing seemed to work. The panic broke out .
I was getting worried. It was a really terrifying feeling. I was looking
around at all the people on the board, I heard terrible cries of the
children and women, a few people were praying and I was just sitting
there, in between all this mess, with my mouth wide open because of fear
and I couldn't move. I just saw all my life like in a kaleidoscope in the
higher level. I just heard the pilot saying "We will try to land on
the fields".
It was almost the last thing I remember because everything was happening
so fast and I just heard all the passengers moaning and finally- the plane
crashing down.
I passed out and I don't know for how long. When I
finally woke up I felt that someone was carrying me quickly away from the
plane. It was so dark everywhere and I could only hear people moaning
terribly because of the pain. I could smell the petrol. I felt
terrible myself. I had sore legs and I couldn't move my arm. I felt blood
running down my face.
"We
are far enough" - said the man who took me out of the plane. It was
so dark that I couldn`t see his face.
"Are you OK? Can I leave you here because I have to go back for the
rest?" - he said in a warm, but very tired voice.
"Yes, of course, I`m fine" - I said.
But I was lying- I felt horrible. My whole body was sore. The pain was so
intense that I even had problems breathing. I remembered tears falling
down my face because of the pain but I tried to get up and help him.
"No you have to stay here" - he said and ran back to the
plane. I couldn't believe his courage and I admired him for the strength.
I tired to close my eyes and take a deep breath when suddenly I heard a
big explosion. It was the plane. I just saw high flames which enlightened
almost the whole area. The view was so appalling that it's difficult to
describe it. At the same time I noticed that the boy who saved my life
fell down.
" Oh my God NOOOOO" - I screamed with the tears in my eyes. I
saw him covering his face with his hand and falling down because of the
explosion.
He was lying there without move. I was so desperate because I didn't know
what has happened to him and I decided to crawl next to him to check if
everything was all right.
"Hey, please wake up! Don't do that to me. Pleaseeeee" - I cried
and hugged him as tight as I could. If something bad has happened to
him I would never forgive myself. I felt guilty because of this situation.
"I`ll be fine if you let me go, otherwise you'll strangle me" -
he said smiling weakly at me.
"Thank God you are all right" - I said taking a deep
breath.
I looked at his face but I could only see his pretty smile.
At the same moment I felt my whole body shaking and I felt terrible
because of the pain. He rested on a big rock and hugged me to make me
warmer and more comfortable.
I was lying there wrapped in his arms. The world didn't exist for me then.
I wanted this moment to last forever. He was like
my Guardian Angel and I never wanted to let him go. He tried to make
me feel better, to make me forget about the pain and make sure that
everything will be fine, by telling me funny stories from his and his
friends' lives. I think he has told me everything about his colorful life.
He even sang for me my fave songs with his amazing and very warm voice. It
was funny because we've known each other just for a while but I felt like
we were the best mates ever. We had so many things in common. It was like
ironical. In all this tragedy I felt like I found the man of my dreams
with whom I might stay forever.
The weather was better now and we both could see the
sky full of shining stars. Suddenly one of them has fallen down and I made
a wish.
"Did you see that falling star"? - he asked me with emotion in
his voice.
"Yeah, and I made a wish" - I said giving him a sign I wouldn't
tell him what my wish was about.
I don't know how long we stayed there holding each other.
The help came at last. They put me on the stretcher and took me into the
ambulance. I passed out again, not even having a chance to say thank you
or goodbye to my hero.
I woke up late the next day in a hospital. I opened my eyes and I saw I
was in a white room. I still couldn't move because of the pain but I felt
so much better.
Looking around I noticed a man sleeping on the chair in the corner of my
room. I tried to get up and come closer to him but I didn't have enough
strength. Eventually, I involuntarily I broke a night lamp. I made a quite
big noise and he woke up and looked at me. He still looked very tired. The
accident was also hard for him.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't want to wake you up" - I said with a bit
hoarse voice.
"That's OK, Dorothy! How do you feel today?". - He asked, stood
up and came closer to my bed.
Then I knew exactly who he was. How I could forget this soft and warm
voice. Now I could also see how he looked like and
I was very impressed in spite of his tired face. Like I remembered from
last night there was a special light in his eyes
which I would never forget.
"I don't know how I might thank you for everything you've done for
me. There's no such words that can explain what I feel" -
I said in the warmest way possible, looking directly into his eyes.
But what could I say or what could I do to express how thankful I was to a
person whom I owed my life.
He just took my hand and said:
"You don't have to say anything. Just promise that you will stay with
me" - he said and kissed my hand softly.
How I could say no. I hardly knew him but it seemed like we've known each
other for ages. I knew that I could trust him and rely on him. He saved my
life.
Besides, I've never met such a courageous, nice, cute and handsome guy
with heart of gold before.
"Yeah, I can promise you that!" - I said in a sure voice,
smiling at him.
"Do you remember that falling star?" - I continued "I made
a wish then and you just made it come true". - I said a little shyly.
He just came closer to me and gave me a gentle and passionate kiss on my
lips.
"But you even didn't tell me your name". - I said when I was
back on the ground.
"Bryan. My name's Bryan, honey".
