Survivors> chapter 7
"Did
we get all we needed?" Mark asks looking at Billie who was checking
all the food and other things that were transferred from their camp. "I
think we did." Says Kian who was helping around with the makeshift
shelter. They have doubled the bamboo poles and the coconut leaves. Kian
placed strict rules that the girls should occupy one side of the shelter
while the lads stay on the other side. He heard Bryan and Mark groaned
with complain. Shane eyed Kian and nodded with agreement. Taking
a break, Bryan sat on the sand beside Mark then roamed his eyes
unconsciously checking all people. "Where's
the two N's?" he asks indirectly to Mark. Mark looked around and
thought about what two N's Bryan was talking about. "What
two N's?" Bryan
turned to Mark. "I'm talking about Nicky and Nady. They're gone for
like an hour now." "They'll
get here soon." Billie
approached them, taking up the space beside Mark. Bryan roamed his eyes
for Pril and found her fishing by the rocks with Kymie. "Mark?
You finish here with Kian. I'll go help Pril with Kymie." "Sure." Bryan
winked at Billie and got up, wiping away the sand from his short's
backside. He strode down towards Shane. "Nicky
and Nady had been gone for like an hour now. Shouldn't we be
worried?" Shane
was just about to say something when Nicky and Nady appeared from behind
the coconut trees, both were carrying mangoes in big leaves. Bryan
chuckled at the sight of the two. There was something different about them
and he knows it. "Where
have you guys been?" Shane asks looking at Nady as she approached
camp putting down the fruits with their other food. "We
almost got lost. Good thing Nady here remembers every trail we passed
on." Nicky lied eyeing Nady only then seeing the hickey mark he
planted on her shoulder. Immediately, he took Kian's shirt hanging by the
shelter, took it and placed it around her shoulders. Nady was startled
with his sudden move, looking at him intently as he hinted what he was
hiding from the rest. She smiled to him and shook her head. "Hey!
Where did you find these?" Mitzie squeals pinching the mangoes as she
inspects them. "We
found a tree near the lagoon." Nady reveals causing Kian to turn to
her. "You
two went to the lagoon?" Nady bit her lower lip. Are they busted now?
She looked at Nicky then back to Kian. "Yeah.
Why?" "Couldn't
you have at least waited for us?" Nady
breathes with relief. Still the others can bust them. "Well
we didn't really go there." Nicky said putting more dried wood in the
fire. "Why
don't we all go there before dinner? Get some fresh water too." Mark
suggests putting the last coconut leaf on the roof of the shelter. "Yeah.
That would be nice right?" Billie agrees. Nicky and Nady looked at
each other then turned away with mischievous grins on their lips. The
shelter is now made and complete. Shane and Kian made this food storage
placed on the roof of the shelter preventing wild animals from getting
them. The dried, soaked boxes were soft enough to be ripped open if a wild
animal lurks around in their new camp. Everyone
was at the moment, eating the caught fish and the leftover meat. Mitzie
couldn't stop eating the mangoes. Mark and Billie were teasing one another
with how much they eat. Bryan and Pril were eyeing one another with an
idea only they knew about. Shane feeds Mitzie another mango. Kian and
Kymie were arguing about music notes at the same time tickling one
another. Nicky and Nady were playing around with their food and actually
feeding from one another. Bryan then leaned over to Kian and whispered. "Something
happened between those two." He tells him. Kian looked at him
strangely. "Bryan,
Nicky's sex life is really none of your business." "Well
don't you see it? Don't you see the difference?" "What
difference are you talking about?" "The
way they move and look at one another." "Bryan,
it's really none of our business. Just leave it. If something did happen
with them, well isn't that good?" "Well
yeah." "Okay
then conversation's over." Kian
turned away and focused his attention to Kymie who are now peeling
mangoes. They shared the fruit and left Bryan pondering over Nicky and
Nady's little secret. "Do
you think they know?" Nady asks looking at their friends. Nicky
squeezed her hand and continued eating on the huge log. "I
don't think they care enough to want to know. It is our business." "I
know that. It's just that it's now our little secret." She tells him
wiping mango juices from his mouth. "Well it is, isn't it?" Nicky leaned over and kissed her lips. She licked her lips as they parted grinning mischievously at him.
