Survivors> chapter 10

Pril couldn't sleep. She has been tossing and turning that night. She couldn't believe that Bryan would say such serious words just after four days of knowing her. She wanted to laugh and shake the feeling of shock but she knew he was serious. It's not like she didn't want him, it's not like she didn't love him, she does. She had always loved him, the thought of him, the posters on her wall were the only connection she ever had with before but now, this is different, she thought. Too different that the long time dream was actually there and profoundly proposing to her a serious relationship. Sighing, Pril closed her eyes and tried to blank her mind of him just to help her get some sleep. A few minutes and her forehead crinkled tight. Suddenly she got up, crawling out of the shelter, walking away towards the beach. It was cold outside that she rubbed her hands on her arms. She sat in front of the burning fire and watched flecks of orange colors go upwards. The sound of the waves was the only music in her ears. She roamed her eyes around the beach, everything calm and cool. She was just putting in more sticks of wood when Kymie came out, rubbing her eyes.
"Hey…" she greeted her cupping her mouth as she yawned.
"Hey…sorry if I woke you up." Pril apologizes, as Kymie was the one sleeping beside her.
"Nah, it's okay. Why are you still up?" Kymie asks sitting beside her, putting half of Kian's large shirt around her. Pril leaned on her shoulder and stared on the fire.
"Bryan told me he loves me."
"He did?"
"Yeah and he is serious."
Kymie smiles and said. "So what's the problem?"
"I don't know."
"Does it bother you?"
"Yes." Pril poked the fire with a stick. "I doubt he's serious."
"Why?"
"Kym, for one, we just met them. I can't even believe that we would all be so comfortable with one another just after a few days of meeting." Kymie looks at her friend and nods.
"Yeah it was shocking."
"And now I hear from him that he loves me. Isn't that a bit weird?" Kymie looks at Pril.
"Well Bryan has always been the weird one." It was a joke and Pril took it lightly.
"Yeah. It's making me nervous though."
"Why?"
"Because of how he acted when I disappeared from his side while we were playing. I'm thinking what if he loves me because I resemble one of his girlfriends before? I can't just be a shadow of someone he loves before, it's not fair."
Kymie puts an arm around Pril. "I understand what you're saying." Pril smirked a frown.
"What do you think should I do?"
"Well…" Kymie sighed and looked over the gentle waters. "You could confront him about it when he tells you he loves you again," Kymie turned to Pril. "Or you could accept whatever reason he has for loving you." Pril watched the fire burn then leaned on Kymie's shoulder once again.
