Robert Ressler

Ressler's lay viewpoint  because he has no access into the investigation nor any of the reports.

  • I can't do a profile per se because I have no access to the information but from what I know it's #1 - Not some sort of aborted kidnapping.
  • The note is completely false and designed to divert attention away from what happened to this child.  JonBenet knew her killer.
  • The parents are suspects in the police view & the prosecutor's view but I don't say they're necessarily involved with the killing of the child but they are concealing something and that information is necessary to complete the investigation.
  • Unlike any other case I've ever seen in my entire professional life,  this has been a classic case as far as easy to investigate but on the other hand, it's been a classic case of screw-ups.
  • Five months was far too long for the police to wait to talk with the Ramseys.
  • There is nothing logical or accurate about the note in relation to kidnapping.
  • I have never seen parents in such a conflict with investigating authorities.

Again - Like I said, the kidnap scenario is completely bogus. #1 - Although there are some exceptions, kidnappers do not enter  homes because he could be spotted - identified, or leave evidence.    We have a person who entered the home and took the child to the basement and killed the child. We have some sort of bizarre sexual assault that again, I think was staged -- I don't believe that's what happened. And then of course after the death of the child a kidnap note was written in draft and then final to the tune of almost six pages.

Practice note, final note, 6 pages.   A great deal of time spent - Writing notes - Walking around the house - It's way out of proportion. If you find the child in the home you shouldn't find a note - If  you find the note - you shouldn't find the child.

The cause of death is accidental.  The sexual assault was staged.  I'm not going to point the finger at the Ramseys  but whoever killed the child had total access to the home, past and present.  By writing the note the kidnapper is giving a whole host of information to the investigators.

The family appears  to be guilty because they hired a whole host of professionals.  They have hired attorneys, a public relations man, private investigators and a profiler.  One of my old colleagues did a profile for the family without the information to do a profile. Here you have a family who is weaving a wall around themselves to avoid dealing with the police.  The whole thing smacks of conspiracy.

  • It's not a serial killer - Not a child predator
  • I believe there is a  conscious effort on the part of the parents to keep info from police.
  • I don't think it was  a  sexual assault
  • Ressler concludes the killing is,  ``Accidental  - Not Intentional".
