".....George Warren Blake who I'm told really ran what I call a cottage industry. He took straw to one home (or many?) and they made hats from it and then took the hat to be finished (with ribbon, etc.) to another home. From there he collected them and sold them from a store or home or wagon I don't know."
On 7 Nov 1833 when George Warren was 20, he married Lavina Bates (475) , GGG Grandmother, F, daughter of John Bates, M (20 May 1773-3 Jul 1848) & Margaret Smith (473), F (20 Mar 1778-1855). Born on 26 May 1812 in Bellingham, Norfolk Co, MA. Lavina died in 1897, she was 84.
