472. Solomon Blake, 5G Grandfather, M. Born on 10 Oct 1737 in Wrentham, Norfolk Co, MA. Solomon died in Franklin, Norfolk Co, MA on 5 Jan 1824, he was 86.

Resided on Mt. Hope road in Franklin, MA
Franklin was a part of Wrentham prior to 1780

Subject of who are Solomon's parents? There is no true factual evidence supporting who Solomon's parents are. I have found nothing so far historically that states that Ebenezer and Petronella are indeed Solomon's parents. There is, however, substantial proof as follows that would lead me to believe with little doubt that this is the best possibility of all that I have analyzed.

The vital statistics for both Wrentham and Franklin are well documented and I have all the records for Wrentham and someone gave me the lowdown on the vital records for Franklin. Only 2 Solomons have recorded births in the area of and about the time we'd want.

1. Solomon s. of Capt. James and Ann (Bullard), 8 OCt 1734.

2. Solomon s. of Ebenezer and Petronella (Peck), 14 Oct 1737

None are are in the 1740's or 1750's. One of these two married Abiel Pond. Most people tend to believe it is Solomon son of Ebenezer and Petronella but no one can provide irrefutable proof that this is so.

Here's the scenario as I see it.

History Lesson: Wrentham and Franklin were one and the same up until 1778 when Franklin became it's own little villa. Solomon 1 and Solomon 2 noted above lived on opposite sides of the track so to speak. Otherwise there was quite a distance between the two.

Solomon of James and Anna was born Oct 1734, this is verified in the vitals. He dies at the age of 90 in Feb 1825 recorded as 90 yrs 4 mos in the vitals. There is a Solomon buried in the same cemetery as James and Anna and Abiel with a headstone dated 1734-1824. My guess is that someone told the tombstone man the wrong date because we know for a fact that if a Solomon is born in Oct of 1734, he is 90 years and 4 mos in Feb of 1825...and we know he is the son of James and Anna by the date of birth.

Also of deaths noted in Wrenthams vitals are his father James, his mother Ann, and his grandson Solomon, son of Enoch and Betsy. ALL are family members to again tie him in with this family.

Moving into the Franklin vitals.

Deaths notated in the vitals,

1. Solomon 1824, using process of elimination, I'll figure he was the one born in 1737 to Ebenezer and Petronella. Therefore he died at the age of abt. 86.

2. Patronella Blake, deceased in 1803, was the sister of Solomon, dau Ebenezer and Petronella, and wife of Solomon Butler. She would have died at the age of abt 70 having been born in 1733.

3. Sybil, the wife of Solomon, died in 1826. She would have been 91 if she was born in 1735 as Richardson Genealogy information places her.

4. Solomon deceased 1839 was the son of Solomon and Sibel.

These are all of the same family thus supporting the tie-in together. It seems there is a distinct line of separation between the two families when observing the vitals. This helps me to make up my mind that Solomon of our ancestry is the son of Ebenezer and Petronella.



On 5 Apr 1769 when Solomon was 31, he married Sibell Richardson, 5G Grandmother, F, daughter of Samuel Richardson, M (3 Jan 1714-9 Feb 1811) & Mary Allen, F (10 Jun 1717-), in Wrentham, Norfolk Co, MA. Born on 10 Aug 1735. Sibell died in Franklin, Norfolk Co, MA on 10 Mar 1826, she was 90.

They had the following children:
i. Sibel, 5G Aunt, F. Born on 18 Apr 1770 in Wrentham, Norfolk Co, MA. Sibel died in Westborough, Worcester Co, MA on 29 Sep 1827, she was 57.

On 20 Mar 1804 when Sibel was 33, she married Benjamin Whitney, Half 19C7R, M, son of Eli Whitney, M (3 May 1741-25 Aug 1807) & Elizabeth Fay, F (1740-18 Aug 1777). Born on 13 Sep 1768 in Westborough, Worcester, MA. Benjamin died in Westborough, Worcester, MA on 28 Dec 1842, he was 74.

Brother to inventor of the Cotton Gin, Eli Whitney.

Note in the Westborough VR's says "The last of the Eli Whitney family."
