Family of Domagart II MacDomnaill King of Scots (60)

65. Eochaidh II Crook-Nose King of Scots, 41G Grandfather, M. Born abt 0660. Eochaidh II Crook-Nose King of died in 0697, he was 37.

ruled Dal Riata 695? - 697.
On the death of Domnall Donn, the kingship of Dal Riata was disputed between Eochaid, the son of Domangart II and Ferchar Fota, head of the Loarn branch of the family of erc. As most king lists identify Ferchar as the successor to Domnall and not Eochaid, we may presume that Eochaid was either expelled or held captive. Ferchar died in 697, possibly of natural cuases, but also possibly as a result of the inter-dynastic struggle. Eochaid succeeded in claiming the kingship, but only for a brief period - within a few months, he was murdered by Ferchar's son Ainbcellach. He remained in authority long enough to lend his name to Adomnan's Law of the Innnocents which was promulgated during 697.

Eochaidh II Crook-Nose King of married Spondana of the Picts, 41G Grandmother, F.

They had one child:
70 i. Eochaidh MacEchdach III King of, M (-0733)
