Wilderness survival skills are the basic skills needed to live in the forests, deserts and jungles of the world. Having a knowledge of these skills is the best place to start when building your skill banks for the bad times.

Having wilderness skills allows you to live in any environment, anytime. Imagine the end of the world being no more stressful then taking a camping trip.

The books in this section will help you to learn these skills. If you read them and then practice what you read in the backyard or on camping trips, you have made the first step to survival preparedness.

The SAS Survival Handbook is the overall best book on the subject that I have read. Written by John 'Lofty' Wiseman, A 25-Year veteran of the British SAS and it's chief survival instructor. He has put all of his experience together with excellent artwork into one place, giving us one great book.

The Compleat Wilderness Training Book by Hugh McManners. This is another good book on wilderness skills. It is not as compleat as the SAS Handbook above, but it does have a lot of good information. It's greatest strength is it's photography. Use this one for kids, newbies or anyone that needs a quick lesson in wilderness skills.
