| A love story about a
beautiful woman who moves to the Pacific Northwest after a painful divorce to start a new
life and ends up becoming involved with a younger man. Maggie Sorrell (Principal), an
exquisite woman in her 40's, is still recovering from her husbands betrayal when she
decides to return to her hometown to start over now that her children are grown and have
left the nest. A talented interior designer, she agrees to go into business with her best
friend, Sam (Mary Kay Place), a fabric designer. On a project, Maggie meets Jake
Cantrell (Pasdar), a handsome man in his late 20s who is the electrical designer on an old
farmhouse Sam is planning to turn into a quaint bed and breakfast. Maggie initially
resists her attraction to Jake, although she is flattered as well as flustered by his
attention. But working together, day in and day out, they begin to fall in love. Sam, who
thinks Maggie is setting herself up for heartbreak, discovers that Jake is married and
tells Maggie. When Maggie confronts Jake, he admits he has tried to tell her the truth --
that he and his wife have been separated for more than a year and are planning to divorce.
In love, Maggie agrees to wait for Jake to be free. Serious complications arise in Jake's
life that threaten to keep them apart, but true love can triumph over even the most
difficult of circumstances. For Jake and Maggie, the story is far from over. |
