In my workshop we will learn to draw and paint the human face, by learning the correct proportions, in every position. We will spend a small portion of the class stimulating right brain activity; doing various drawing exercises, which will help you develop your powers of observation, and what I like to say..capturing the "soul" of the person.
I will demonstrate various painting techniques of the Old Masters....Imprimatura,,and the ancient Portraiture application of the 4 Earth tones, which can produce hundreds of subtle yet rich tones to your painting. I will encourage you to use your ability to imagine..to see with your mind's eye, or just be inspired by what you see, with the beautiful island of Paros as the background! Each artist will be given personal attention, to attain their artistic vision! We will paint at inspiring and comfortable locations that will enhance and help you grow in your artistic path!

I have had the privilege of studying portrait art under Victoria Papale several times. Her teaching encompasses so many areas of study and rendering.
Victoria opened up a new way of visualization, of thinking and of drawing that I can use, even without pencil or color! And I do. Her instruction of light and value and design became part of my thinking, because of the innovative ways she taught it!
Her critique became so important to me, I wanted to do better after each class. Her expression of art threads into her teaching skills, and becomes more than a concept. It is a pleasureable part of my daily life. It's an honor to study under her!
Through Victoria Papale's Instruction of Portraiture, I learned how to shift into the correct way of seeing and observing the face. I am able to see the unique contours of an individual, the shadows and shape of shadows that define the face.
Victoria's style of teaching made me feel relaxed and her enthusiasm for portraiture was reflected in her teaching approach.
