Detailed History
Two Ford Transit minibuses with Carlyle bodywork and diesel engines were purchased new by Southern Vectis during 1986. These differed from the previous two batches delivered in 1985 in that they featured longer bodywork and seating capacity of 20 instead of 16.

D269YDL was new in August 1986 being reseated with luggage shelves to DP16F and entered service as [269] in the "Hydrobus" livery of Sunburst Red, Monarch Red and Diamond White with a black skirt.

D270YDL was new in August 1986 being reseated with luggage shelves to DP16F and entered service as [270] in the "Medinalinx" livery of Orange, Beige and Diamond White with a black skirt.

During 1987 D269YDL [269] was reseated back to DP20F, in September 1987 D270YDL [270] was reseated back to DP20F.

In April 1991 D269YDL [269] & D270YDL [270] were withdrawn from service.

A nearside-front view of D270YDL [270] in Orange "Medinalinx" livery on St. Boniface Down, Ventnor, during July 1988. An interesting variation was made to the timetable of the Ventnor local service that summer in that two buses per day would travel to the top of the Down.
