| Detailed History |
| Nine
Ford Transit minibuses with Carlyle bodywork and diesel
engines were purchased new by Southern Vectis during the
first half of 1985. The Ford Transit minibus was based on
conversion of the walk-through van available at the time,
hence they are known throughout the bus industry as Bread
Vans. B250LDL / B251LDL & B252LDL were new in January 1985 with B254MDL / B256MDL / B257MDL & B258MDL being new in May 1985 and entered service as [250] / [251] / [252] / [254] / [256] / [257] & [258] respectively in the "Wanderer" livery of Caribbean Blue, French Blue and Diamond White with a black skirt. B259MDL / B260MDL & B261MDL were new in May 1985 and entered service as [259] / [260] & [261] respectively in the "Hydrobus" livery of Sunburst Red, Monarch Red and Diamond White with a black skirt. In January 1987 B260MDL [260] went on loan to Pilgram Coaches of Southampton. Between February 1988 to 26 March 1988 B250LDL [250] / B251LDL [251] were transferred to Badger Vectis - B250LDL [250] was repainted in White with Green & Yellow Stripes (ie. standard Badger Vectis livery) and operated as number [33]. were withdrawn from service in: Subsequent History B250LDL [250]:
