Detailed History
Two Dennis Dart's, with Plaxton bodywork, were acquired second-hand by Southern Vectis in October 2003: J382GKH & K244PAG.

J382GKH & K244PAG were new to London Buses in January 1992 or November 1992 entering service as their [DR82] or [DR144] in February 1992 or December 1992 respectively. They operated initially from Edgware depot. In October 1994 London Buses was privatised and both buses were transferred to the successor company, Metroline. J382GKH & K244PAG were withdrawn in July 2001 or June 2001 respectively.

In July 2001 J382GKH & K244PAG were sold to B&D Holt of Bolton (dealer).

In October 2001 J382GKH was sold to Bradford Bus Company of Bradford operating as their number [0382].

In July 2003 J382GKH was sold back to B&D Holt of Bolton (dealer).

In October 2003 both J382GKH & K244PAG were purchased by Southern Vectis being numbered [818] & [819] respectively. Prior to delivery - on 16 October & 17 October respectively - they had been repainted into Oxford Blue & Stripes livery and were reseated to B31F by removal of the luggage racks at B&D Holt (dealer). [per Ian Rivett]

In October 2003 both J382GKH [818] & K244PAG [819] were fitted with destination blind boxes which had been taken from two of the 1993 Leyland Olympians (which had received electronic destination screens). [per Ian Rivett]

On 7 November 2003 J382GKH [818] & K244PAG [819] entered service. [per Paul Budden via. Gavin Rowney]
