Detailed History
Four Iveco 59-12's with Marshall bodywork were bought new by Southern Vectis in 1996 which were delivered in Mushroom and Dark Green livery.

Between 25 September 1998, and by 26 August 2000, N243PDL [243] was fitted with a newer 1997 style replacement front grille and bumper following accident damage in Binstead. [per Gavin Rowney]

During 2000 N241PDL [241] was fitted with a newer 1997 style replacement front grille and bumper following accident damage at Kite Hill (Wootton). [per Gavin Rowney]

By October 2000 N243PDL [243] carried a ContraVision rear advertisement for "Central Garage". [per Gavin Rowney]

During August 2001 N241PDL [241] / N243PDL [243] / N242PDL [242] & N240PDL [240] had been fitted with Day-glow destination blinds by the 2 / 15 / 18 & 24 August respectively. [per Gavin Rowney]

By 24 December 2001 N243PDL [243] had the ContraVision rear advertisement for "Central Garage" removed. [per Gavin Rowney]

They were repainted into Oxford Blue & (Yellow, Orange & Red) Stripes livery:
In November 2001: N240PDL [240] [per Gavin Rowney]
In January 2002: N241PDL [241] [per Gavin Rowney]
By 2 June 2002: N242PDL [242] [per Gavin Rowney]
By 27 June 2002: N243PDL [243] [per Gavin Rowney]

By 1 March 2005 N240PDL [240] / N241PDL [241] / N242PDL [242] & N243PDL [243] were withdrawn from service.

Subsequent History

N240PDL [240]:

  • By 1 March 2005 it was moved to Ryde Depot and stored.
  • During April 2005 it was transferred to Solent Blue Line operating as their [240], entering service by 24 May 2005. [per Phil Stockley]

N241PDL [241]:

  • By 1 March 2005 it was moved to Ryde Depot and stored.
  • During April 2005 it was transferred to Solent Blue Line operating as their [241], entering service by 24 May 2005. [per Phil Stockley]

N242PDL [242]:

  • By 1 March 2005 it was moved to Ryde Depot and stored.
    During early June 2005 it was relicensed for use during the Nokia Music Festival (10-12 June 2005).     [per Marc Morgan Huws]
  • On 14 June 2005 it was transferred to Solent Blue Line operating as their [242]. [per Marc Morgan Huws]
    On 11 March 2007 it was withdrawn. [per Marc Morgan Huws]
  • On 11 March 2007 it was transferred back to Southern Vectis, whom will likely use it as a source of spares. [per Marc Morgan Huws]

N243PDL [243]:

  • By 1 March 2005 it was moved to Ryde Depot and stored.
    During early June 2005 it was relicensed for use during the Nokia Music Festival (10-12 June 2005).     [per Marc Morgan Huws]
  • On 15 June 2005 it was transferred to Solent Blue Line operating as their [243]. [per Marc Morgan Huws]
