Detailed History
Three Iveco 49-10's with Car Chair bodies were bought new by Southern Vectis in 1992 and entered service in Red and White livery.

J234KDL was new to Solent Blue Line in March 1992 and entered service as their number [234].

In November 1995 J236KDL [236] was repainted into the Mushroom and Dark Green livery.

In January 1996 J237KDL [237] was repainted into the Mushroom and Dark Green livery.

In February 1996 J238KDL [238] was repainted into the Mushroom and Dark Green livery.

In January 2000 J234KDL was transferred to Southern Vectis and entered service in Mushroom and Dark Green livery as number [234].

Between February and May 2001 J237KDL [237] was withdrawn following accident damage.

In July 2001 J234KDL [234] / J236KDL [236] & J238KDL [238] were withdrawn.

Subsequent History

J234KDL [234]:

  • In August 2001 it was sold to Douglass t/a Wessex Bus of Weymouth. By 6 October 2001 it was noted as having the nearside inward facing seats replaced with normal forward facing types (and is still B23F). [per Steve Oxbrow via. Gavin Rowney]
  • In December 2002 it was sold to Goddard & Tweedie t/a A-Line of St. John, still in Southern Vectis livery.

J236KDL [236]:

  • By 23 February 2002 it had been sold to the Isle of Wight Council for use as a community bus in the Sandown-Shanklin area.
    By 24 July 2002 the previously Mushroom part of the livery had been repainted Orange.

    It had been noted normally parked outside Sandown Youth Club in Grafton Street but had disappeared by October 2004 (previously noted there minus its rear registration index plate).
  • By 28 August 2005 it had been sold to Rookley Scrapyard, IW. [per Gavin Rowney]
    By 3 January 2006 it had disappeared from Rookley Scrapyard, IW, and was most likely scraped. [per Gavin Rowney]

J237KDL [237]:

  • In June 2001 it was sold to Coach Travel of Chatham. [per Gavin Rowney]
    In July 2001 it was noted at the Medway Business Park in Kent. [per Bus Fayre magazine September 2001 via. Gavin Rowney]

J238KDL [238]:

  • In August 2001 it was sold to Douglass t/a Wessex Bus of Weymouth. By 6 October 2001 it was noted as having the nearside inward facing seats replaced with normal forward facing types (and is still B23F). [per Steve Oxbrow via. Gavin Rowney]
  • In December 2002 it was sold to Goddard & Tweedie t/a A-Line of St. John, still in Southern Vectis livery.
