Detailed History
Six Dennis Lance 2's, with ECOC (Eastern Counties Omnibus Company) bodywork, were bought new by Southern Vectis in 1936 - these were the very first double-decker buses purchased by Southern Vectis. They were fitted with Gardner 5LW oil engines and entered service in Dark Green & Cream window surrounds & roof livery.

At sometime during the 1940's, and probably on or after 1946, the batch were repainted into Tilling Green & Cream livery.

They were withdrawn from service in:
1953: ADL500 [600] / ADL502 [602] & ADL504 [604]
March 1954: ADL503 [603]
August 1954: ADL501 [601]
October 1954: ADL505 [605]

Photo Selection
An offside-front view of ADL503 [603] at Ryde Esplanade. Although undated, it would appear that this picture was taken shortly before the bus was withdrawn, probably during the early 1950's.
