Warhammer 40000 is a game produced by a UK company called Games Workshop. A while ago they decided that 40k could be tweaked to make it more playable. What they came up with was Warhammer 40000 Third Edition.

Unfortunately, many players felt that the alterations did little to simplify the game and made it less interesting to play, as weapons ranges, movement rates and such were all simplified. This reduced the individuality of different forces and took much of the tactical skill out of the game. Other aspects of the game were made unneccesarily complicated, such as hand to hand combat. In short, many gamers felt GW had incorperated the worst aspects of Warhammer Fantasy and Epic.
