Mega-Flex

CAN OF MEGA-FLEX

after drinking, Strength is raised to a maximum of EX, no more than +3CS

"Mega-Flex" is a Coca-Cola-like cafeinated, sugary soda sold in 33cl metal cans. The can is decorated in a way evocative of a can of Pepsi cola and an energy drink.

It is also an experimental serum designed to confer temporary super-strength. Mega-Flex is the creation of Masao Takashi, a brilliant chemist who is the son of another brilliant chemist, Masao Nakamura. Takashi has issues with his father, and mostly wanted to design a super-strength serum superior to any previous accomplishment. He couldn't be bothered to do so legally, though.

His main plan was to release an experimental version of his anabolics as a soft drink, and check their effects on live subjects in order to correct the various secondary effects; Mega-Flex was sold directly to bars and pubs. His main testing ground was Hogan's, a Bludhaven police bar. When the police station's coffee machine broke down, sales of the cafeinated beverage suddenly shot up, and it was used instead of juice by most cops.

Investigating the incidents of flaring tempers, health troubles and super-strength among the force, Nightwing tracked down Masao and told him to stop distributing his serum. Masao went postal at the notion of having his tests slowed down, and took a large gulp of concentrated Mega-Flex. Although he couldn't connect with Nightwing, he pretty much demolished his entire laboratory.

The secondary effects of Mega-Flex at the time of the story include increased violent tendencies, muscle strains, a strong growth of muscle mass and kidney damage. It doesn't seem to induce dependency. If Mega-Flex makes an appearance in your campaign, some of the secondary effects may have been decreased - or the efficiency of the serum may have increased.
