Multiverse Background

By Byron Molix
Suppose you were going to set a campaign in an alternate post-Zero Hour universe. One where Parallax succeeded in "fixing" everything. What would it be like?

I brought back the multi-verse of infinite earths. But instead of having all the Earths be mostly the same, I decided why not capitalize on there being so many stats available for many comic book company worlds out there, so I did.

It was called Earths United. Here are the worlds I thought up or appropriated for my use.

Earth-1

This is the world of DC Comics today, post Zero Hour when the heroes have won, or at least that's what Parallax wants them to think. The premiere heroes of this world are the Justice League of America: Superman, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern.

Earth-G

This is a divergent world based on Chris Claremont's DC Earth from Whom Gods Destroy. The premiere heroes of this world are Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice Society of America: Captain Comet, Doctor Fate, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Captain Marvel, Nightwing. Other beings of note are Lex Luthor, the Martian Manhunter and the Ultra-Humanite. Without further ado, the History of the World. The net-based source book of the same name I began work on was this very world.

Earth-M2

This is the world Heroes Reborn take's place on. It is characterized by incredibly high technology. The premiere heroes of this world are the Avengers: Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Giant Man, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Quicksilver, Black Widow, and the Fantastic Four: Mr. Fantastic, Thing, Human Torch, and Invisible Woman. Other beings of note on the world include The Hulk, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Namor, SHIELD and Kang.

Earth-M

This is the standard Marvel universe, holding Doctor Strange, the X-Men, Apocalypse, Spider-Man, etc. The most powerful group here is the X-Men, with the Avengers gone. It is still chock full of powerful beings however.

Earth-I

The world of Image Comics is also included. The premiere heroes of this world are Stormwatch, and the Wild C.A.T.S. However, Spawn, Savage Dragon, Shadowhawk, Backlash, Grifter, Gen13 and others also inhabit the world for good or ill.

Earth-A

The Earth that houses Astro City is a colorful one. The most powerful heroes on this planet include Honor Guard, and The First Family. Winged Victory, The Hanged Man, Jack-in-the-Box, and the Gentleman also are great forces in their places.

Earth-V

The Remnants of the Valiant Universe still struggle on into the far future, with Magnus, Solar, Gilad Anna-Padda, and a few others. This world is nearly dead, with most of its valiant heroes gone to destiny.

Earth-V2

This is the alternate Earth of the specials created by Solar.

Some others Earths that would deserve good source books for such a concept would include Earth-S, with all the Fawcett Characters on it. It could coexist just as it did before, just Captain Marvel wouldn't be unique, in fact there'd be 3 of him. Then for those die hards that wanted to play in the real golden age, we could have Earth-2 again.

Basically it's an established continuity to have crossovers and teamups with only a vibrational barrier separating them from each other. Just think about it, JSA vs. the Invaders with the golden age heroes from your own world visiting to try and stop the fighting? It had too much potential for me, but my main concern was how to flesh out everything and get enough stats so each could stand alone if need be.
