Powers: Sixth Sense
Gideon Cross has the powers of INVISIBILITY, ILLUSION GENERATION (personal disguise only) and TELEPATHY at REMARKABLE level. He's had them since he was a child, but the cult taught him how better to focus his powers. I'd guess that this makes him more a Mutant than a Magician. I would suppose that is he really tried (perhaps a Yellow FEAT roll) he could create an Illusion of something other than normal clothes over his costume.
Shadow Cloak
Demon Hunter wears a great, blue cloak (UNEARTHLY Material strength) that manifests many powers. The cloak is a portal to (or perhaps actually IS) a Pocket Dimension. He can reach into it and produce standard Melee and Thrown weapons like Swords, Daggers and Battle-Axes of INCREDIBLE material strength. It is up to the judge if it can also manifest Missile Weapons like Bows and Arrows. It's likely that the cloak can't summon modern weapons like guns and such. The cloak is also prehensile, and moves at his mental command. He can use it as a limb, stretching upto a space away to disarm or entangle opponents. If he makes a Yellow Fighting FEAT he can envelope opponents in its folds and (if the victim fails a Psyche FEAT roll verses Gideon's Remarkable Psyche) send them into the cloaks Pocket Dimension -- "A world of DESOLATION!" -- where they are imprisoned until he releases them. Unlike his later incarnation over at Marvel Comics (where he was known as "Devil Slayer") Demon Hunter can't seem to teleport himself with his cape. I offer as proof of this the fact that he needs to take a plane twice in his first (and only) appearance.
Limitations: Gideon Cross had betrayed the "Harvester of Night" cult that had trained him to use his powers. They recently sent a demon named "Hamremmiz" after him (disguised as "Baalberith -- Bringer of Death"), and will certainly continue to try to kill him. Also, before he was a "Harvester of Eyes" he was a wanted criminal...and probably still is.
Talents: Military, Demonology, Occult Lore, Firearms, Melee and Missile Weapons, Resist Domination, Weapon Specialist (Shadow Cloak).
Contacts: None. The "Harvester's of Night" don't count anymore.
History: Gideon Cross tells us this about himself..."My life began to DETERIORATE the Moment I stepped off the plane from 'Nam. No one met me. I went home first, to see my wife..."
Gideon : "I'm looking for Mrs. Cross."
Landlady : "She's GONE --took off with some guy! And she owed me a month's rent!"
"The urge to HURT -- to HIT BACK at life -- swept over me. I decided to get RECKLESS. What did I have to LOSE? I was good at shooting. I decided to stay with it. I heard it PAID well. I began knocking over BOOKIE JOINTS and HOTSPOTS for the organization. It was a HELLISH life. I spent all my money on woman and whiskey. --and for awhile, I FORGOT. But that didn't LAST long. I'd spent most of my life UNDERACHIEVING, PRETENDING -- trying vainly tp hide the ABILITY that finally brought me to the attention of the cult...MY SIXTH SENSE! It had made ma an OUTCAST since childhood...caused me to ALIENATE those around me -- yet it was my special extra-sensory power that made me Valuable to the cult. It made me BELONG. Now I was more than just a freak. My life acquired NEW MEANING."
Then he discovers that his cult is trying to bring about "Xenogenesis -- The Rebirth of the Demon Race" and that tears it. He's willing to kill some people for the cult...but not EVERYBODY! Why...that would be crazy...
Description: Red body suit (spandex?) that leaves his face exposed. White gloves, leg straps and Ankh symbols on his boots. Blue cloak with white collar. A stylized "Third Eye" adorns his costumes brow.
Personality: As far as "Heroes" go, Gideon Cross is a pretty repulsive person. Like many of the "Realistic" heroes of the Atlas line, Demon Hunter tends to kill everyone who crosses his path. He turned to the cult after getting out of Viet Nam (nothing like a nice Demonic Cult to reaffirm your faith in humanity ;>) because he needed something to believe in.
