Ensor - Frio or Split Tail Ensor
This point type is not in any of the popular Texas type books. It has been known to collectors for a long time but never published.
General Information
This is a transitional point. It looks a bit like a Frio but without the basal notch it would be an Ensor. This point type is usually thin and well worked. It normally has nice flaking scars and long needle tip and is usually more symmetrical in shape than a lot of its predecessors on the Frio side of the family although some Ensor types do rival its nice work.
Area Found
This point type is usually found in Central to South Central Texas.
Time Line
This is one of the last Atlatl point types and would be considered a late Archaic piece. Probable age is 2000 - 2500 years.
