From Gilbert M. Hedge

My antique radio collection started in 1978 and prospered until a few years ago when I fell in love with American Indian artifacts, that was Bob's fault. The photograph shows the bulk of my collection. The top row, left to right: 1924 Paragon Type Four radio (Adams Morgan Co.), 1925 Trimm Horn speaker, and a 1924 Zenith 3R radio (late version, regenerative circuit). Second row from top, left to right: 1923 Zenith 4R radio (early version, regenerative circuit), 1925 Sterling tube tester (in circuit), various tubes, batteries, and parts from the 1920's and a Zenith R7000 Tran-Oceanic (the last one in a long line that was produced by Zenith, 40 years or so). Third row from top, left to right: 1921 Zenith 1R radio and matching 2M audio amplifier, which was the first radio sold by Zenith, as sales agent for Chicago Radio Laboratories, to the public for broadcast reception, and some assorted boxed tubes from the 1920's. The bottom row, left to right: 1927 Zenith Model 11E radio (electric) and 1927 Zenith Model 11 radio (battery). All have been completely restored except the Zenith 1R, which I am looking for a couple of parts. I also have several other radios including a 1926 Super Zenith (not pictured). I am still very active in collecting and restoring radios. I also restore antique radios for the general public. If you have a radio that you need to date or are interested in having one restored or just want to talk radio or artifacts, e-mail me at ghedge@pdq.net.

The Weekend Adventures of Bob (McWilliams) and Terri (Lowell) !
When we are not hunting arrowheads it does not mean the fun stops! This weekend (2/03/01)
Terri and I decided to take a short trip to the coast, Port Aransas that is! We made reservations
on the Scat Cat, a deep sea fishing vessel that takes you about 2 1/2 hours out in Federal waters (35 to 40 miles out)
so that we could find some good fishing! We had a great time as the photos will tell! If you would like to try this
fishing trip with us let us know and we will go as a group sometime! The rates are reasonable and fishing is fun!
Here we are about to board out ship!
This is where everyone lines up and lets their line down about 180 to 250 feet, yes we got tangled up!
Well, here is the catch on board, all iced down!
Terri shows off her catch of the day!
Our Sharks!
Aprils Fool! HAHA This is really what WE caught! HAHA Actually we caught 8 more Red Snappers but the season did not open until April 21st and they made us throw them back! Bummer....
Here we are goofing around! HAHA
There are a lot of beautiful sites at Port A, including this Brown Pelican that perched next to us as we were having lunch on the Bay!
