Tony and Robin Goodwin of Walters Oklahoma drive all the way to Texas to dig with the TAAA on a regular basis. Oklahoma has outlawed digging artifacts, even on private property! They do find many nice artifacts on the surface as the web page that Robin has put together will attest to!

A SHORT STORY ABOUT THE PICTURE OF THE POINTS ATTACHED;
AS MANY DO, WE STARTED THE DAY WITH A FISHING OR HUNTING TRIP AS THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE DAY.
THIS WAS A BROWN COUNTY FISHING TRIP IN THE SPRING OF 2000.
WITH THE WATER LEVELS AT JUST OFF AN ALL TIME LOW, THE FOCUS SOON TURNED TO THE DRY SHOALS AND FEEDER CREEKS OF THE PECAN BAYOU.
NOT LONG AFTER DAYLIGHT MY HUNTING PARTNER SCOTT SCHAETZ (AKA...O-BLIND-AND-WALKING-ONE) MUST HAVE TRIPPED OVER THAT BROKEN PERD....AFTER THAT WE FELT WE MIGHT BE IN A GOOD AREA AND SUDDENLY THE FISH WERE MILES FROM OUR MINDS.
THE REALLY SERRATED ONE ON THE TOP ?WASHATA? WAS NEXT, RIGHT ON TOP OF THE GROUND IN A WASH.
THEN CAME THE PERFECT 2 ON THE TOP RIGHT!!
WHAT A HUNT AND IT'S NOT 9 AM YET!!
I MIGHT AS WELL TELL YOU NOW THAT I WAS POURIN' IT ON 0-BLIND-AND-WALKING-ONE BECAUSE I FOUND
ALL 3 OF THOSE TREASURES!!
THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE THAT I MIGHT HAVE BEEN A TAD OBNOXIOUS ABOUT THEN?
THAT HE WHO LAUGHS LAST- LAUGHS BEST THEORY THEN KICKED IN.
OVER THE REST OF THE NOT-QUITE-AS-MUCH-FUN-FOR-ME DAY, SCOTT PICKED UP "ALL" THE REST. ONE AT A TIME, ABOUT AN HOUR APART.
HE SLOWLY BEGAN TO BE THE ONE THAT WAS A BIT HARD TO TAKE.
THE 1 ON THE BOTTOM LEFT IS UNBELIEVABLE....1 7/8" LONG NEEDLE POINT AWL WITH WHOLE TIP PART SHARPENED NO BIGGER THAN A PENCIL LEAD. THE ONE NEXT TO IT SHAPED LIKE A COW SCULL IS GOLDEN TRANSPARENT COLOR WITH BLACK SPOTS AND REALLY PAPER THIN!!!
THE BIGGER ONE NEXT TO IT IS SHINNY GRAY FLINT ON TOP AND A MORE POROUS TYPE FLINT FOR THE BASE.
THE HEARTBREAKER SILVER TRANSPARENT ?MARSHALL? WAS PICKED JUST BEFORE WE GOT BACK TO THE TRUCK.
A DAY NEITHER OF US WILL EVER FORGET,
LONNIE LEVISAY #604
TELL ME WHAT KINDS I HAVE HERE BOB? I THINK IT'S ODD THAT WE COULD PICK UP SO MANY IN ONE DAY AND JUST A COUPLE SEEM TO BE PERDS WITH THE REST ALL DIFFERENT TYPES?
PS: WE ALSO TRIED THIS SAME PLAN WITH DOVE HUNTING IN MIND LAST FRIDAY.........(2) 70# WILD HAWGS WITH 20GA.#2 BUCKSHOT!!, NO DOVES, AND 1 (SCOTT FOUND) ARROWHEAD LATER THAT DAY WAS LOGGED IN THAT UNFORGETTABLE CATEGORY ALSO.
Answer: Lonnie, This is what I can tell from the "poor" quality photo...
From left to right Top: Unknown, Marcos, possible Huffaker variant and two Nolan types.
2nd row: Perd, Carrizo, Unknown, Perd, Marcos
3rd row: Historic Drill, possible snapped base arrow point (Sabinal?), Bulverde and a "you've got me without seeing more of it! On the last one!

From Gilbert Hedge...
The Trade Pipe was found in a dry creek bed on a ranch near Belleville (Austin County, I believe). The ranch belongs to my in-laws. We didn't find much else, a few flakes, we only had half a day. My brother-in-law and I will continue hunting in the future as time permits.
The corner-tang was given to me by an acquaintance. He has no idea where it came from, except he thought maybe his father had picked it up as a boy in the Texas Panhandle. It was the only piece he could find. There is a box of points that have been lost for several years. I sure hope he finds that box and obviously I keep asking about it but at the same time I don't want to anger him (one of those delicate situations.)
The Clovis and the needle point Pedernales was found on a ranch between San Antonio and Laredo (about 500 acres in Zavala, county). It's mainly a hunting ranch and I get invited by the owners to visit (and work on deer stands) occasionally. The Clovis was found on the surface by one of the hunters and he gave it to me. They tell me that several have been found. He promises to show me where he found it, probably in the spring (hopefully). The Pedernales I found when digging in an area that had some flakes on the surface. It was just before dark on the last day of 3. I had found several broken pieces and a couple of Nueces Uniface (one near the surface). I had been breaking the dirt with my two prong tool and racking through the loose dirt. It just popped out. I couldn't believe I hadn't broken it. On this ranch there are no creeks and no signs of burnt rock middens (that I have found yet) but there are lots of rocks that have been worked all over the surface.
I wasn't sure what the Clovis was when I got it, until I got home and looked it up in Turner and Hester, and Dan Davis books. I would read the descriptions over and over, the more I read and the closer I looked at it, the harder my heart pounded. It is the only point I have that I can really feel the grounded edges. I really hate to put it in a display case because I can't touch and feel it. It has the greasy feel like it was heat-treated. It is a sheer joy to touch and admire!
Bo Fowler - Bo found these broken Clovis's close to his ranch, his info will be added as soon as I get it.
