[Ungrateful Dead] Description: Xander Harris, once described by Cordelia as "a giant, walking hormone" (Altered to Fit)has been dating Faith, the girl who would be Slayer. His intense infatuation may be love (or so he believes), especially as Mr Hormone seems to have eyes for no other girl. His wish for Faith to reciprocate those feelings (which she believes she does) is what leads him into a lot of trouble. Mostly with a guy called Fame Nelson. This new, and mysterious, member of the Slayer's 'Scooby Gang' (of which Xander is a member by association with Faith) seems to have his eyes on Xander's girlfriend. Or so it seems to the Xandman. He gets insanely jealous when Fame is around, and it is the sole thing driving a wedge between the two lovers. Ultimately, his actions due to this jealousy is what caused he and Faith, in The Blood-Dimmed Tide, to break up. Xander is still a virgin, although Faith is not, and despite that, the two do not appear to have even discussed consummating the relationship. Perhaps Xander's more innocent nature is rubbing off on his girlfriend, or perhaps their feelings were not as deep as they had wanted to believe.
Especially since he hates Cordelia, and she him. Well, that's not entirely true. Much of the tension between them comes from an unresolved and intense physical attraction on the part of Xander (though he only discovered it himself in Changes). Cordelia used it to her advantage when, undergoing serious emotional turmoil, she rebelled and set out to prove just how much everyone needed her, and that she would no longer be there for them. Xander fell victim to his own lust, and with his guard down he was found to be an easy target for vampire kidnappers. But he was able to put all that behind him and forgive Cordelia, on her return in You Can Always Come Back. They are almost close now, or at least tolerate one another. He probably enjoys Cordy's discomfort around him, due to her deplorable behavior towards him, though he has thus far been surprisingly good about not bringing it up (possibly to protect Faith from discovering that he was willing to cheat on her with Cor). Xander's a good man, but with many weaknesses and few strengths. He is, however, loyal and trustworthy, and this is his most endearing feature. That and his ability to quip. Although he is an honorary member of the Slayer Squad, he provides little besides moral support. He is most often left behind on physical escapades, though he lends what little gray matter he has to the intellectual discussions, and research sessions. Without Faith, though, he is barely acknowledged at all.
