The Newbie Name: Fame Nelson Born: Unknown Occupation: None apparent. Hair: Black Eyes: Brown Soundbite: "I can be brief when I have to. I know some people don't like the sound of my voice quite as much as I do. Though I can't imagine why." [Altered to Fit] Description: Not much is known about this mysterious stranger, who made his first appearance in Fallen Angel. At first he seemed to be just an ordinary victim on the street, but he is clearly much more than that. Fame has knowledge about vampires, demons, and Slayers that most people don't, although in many things he is as much in the dark as the next man. He hasn't had the training and resources of a Watcher, but definitely has had some hands-on experience with the supernatural at some time in his shadowy past. Tall, dark and handsome, this new arrival in Sunnydale has his eyes on Faith, though he made no move until she and Xander split up. Fame gets along reasonably well with most of the 'Scooby Gang' - although is often at odds with Xander. He carries a magical wooden weapon called a matuui, whose engravings seem to act as a power source against certain mystical evils. Fame Nelson appears to be involved in an Internet ring monitoring demon activity in Sunnydale (and perhaps elsewhere) and gets much of his information from this - as we learned in The Blood-Dimmed Tide. In Wild, Wild Wes and other episodes he also seems to be involved in other mysterious activites we, as yet, know nothing about. In the past, Fame was acquainted with the half-demon Doyle, and this may be the source of his knowledge of the 'otherworldly' side of things. After an incident in Chicago, Fame had decided not to become involved in saving the world, and secluded himself away, content to be a personal help in people's lives (He Restoreth My Soul). His association with the Slayer Squad, however, seems to be changing this. Much is still unknown about this man's past - and his present! Doubtless more will be revealed as time goes on. He remains, however, an intriguing and likeable addition to Cordelia: the Vampire Slayer. Technical: Fame Nelson created by JD Burton, played by Robert Floyd.
