Messie Mommy![]() This page was All of my life I have been a messie. Even as a child. Sure I can clean but there are so many things that I would rather be doing. Reading a book, surfing the net, watching my kids play.. you name it. Well that was until recently. I started cleaning and WOW! what an uplifting experience. I noticed right from the start I felt better, slept better and was happier. My house is still not perfect and I have a long way to go and I will ALWAYS be a messie trying to overcome. My house used to be in total disarray but now it can be cleaned in one day's time. (mind you a good day but still a day.) I have my day scheduled (thanks to MOTH) and as long as I stick with it my house stays clean, meals are cooked, the boys are taught and life is good. I do have to admit that some days I don't follow it and things are in total CHAOS. Well not total but not as smooth. I ended up all stressed and tired again and revised my Moth schedule. That is the really great thing about it. You can revise it as many times that you need to until it meets your needs. I needed more free time so now I have that. I have to admit that there were steps to getting as far as I am now. The very first thing I did was throw away all my magazines. (collected since I was 16!) Second was start on piles and piles of laundry. (Doesn't every messie have several piles?) Next was dishes..UGH I still hate dishes. It took days to get completely caught up. Now I TRY to do them daily but if not it doesn't take days or hours to do them. Then after all the dishes were done I cleaned out my cabinets and drawers and got rid of half of my dishes. Less to clean which also means I HAVE to wash more often. My decluttering didn't stop there. It went into closets, toyboxes, other boxes, pantry, sock drawers, under beds and everywhere I could get. I threw away, sacked up and burned a ton of stuff. But oh the joy of it! I throw away with less thought now. I used to keep everything because I was such a pack rat and sometimes I find myself keeping things because I might need it later. But go back in a few days and toss it. There is more to my motivation than meets the eye. I have 2 dear friends (no names here to protect the guilty lol) and a list that keep me accountable. If I post my to do list these ladies (and a few gents) will know that no matter how small my accomplishments are they are huge ones for me and I will return the favor if they do, sometimes it is not vocally but I rejoice for the list in my heart. The list that I speak of so fondly is called messies. I am list the list mom there. Sort of step-mom since I didn't create the list myself. If you would like to join we would love to have you. If you are looking to get some of the messieness out of your life. Make a list of all the things you want to accomplish. Then make a daily list of what you want to do the following day. Don't make it unrealistic. I call this list my TADA list. Simply because when you are done you can say "TADA!!!". List only 5 things at first then if all of those things get done move up to 6 the next day and so on. When you reach the level where you got it all done but one thing. Drop it back down a level and know that is your "comfort zone". For starters this will help. And later I will add links for you that helped me. I wish you well in overcoming your messieness and hope that I helped in someway on your journey to the cleanie you :o). My schedule is available if you would like to see it as well as my daily list of chores. I also have a room of the day if you would like to see those too.
